About this listing
Unwind in the woods! Our two bedroom two bathroom home is situated on 19 beautiful acres on the famous Music Mountain Road in Falls Village, Connecticut.
The first bedroom has a full sized bed and private bathroom with standup shower. The second bedroom is not furnished, however, a twin sized futon mat can be provided for the floor upon request, as pictured. Please note, there is only ONE "real" proper bed in the house, it is the full sized in the master. The interior is vintage modern, with a quirky but clean mix of treasures both inherited and collected throughout my travels.
Outdoors, the scenery is divine any time of year. You will be surrounded by nature, disconnected from the modern world, immersed in peace and quiet. Take a walk through the forest, or down the dirt road to a picturesque stream. In addition to hiking, our area is well known for fly fishing, skiing, biking, and the amazing antique stores. There is also a wide array of culture including America's Oldest Continuous Chamber Music Festival right here at Music Mountain Lime Rock Race Track (we have a garage with parking for one vehicle,) Infinity Music Hall, TriArts, MassMOCA, Dia:Beacon, The Wassaic Project, and Storm King are all within a reasonable drive... and New York City is just a two hour train ride away.
My kitchen and all it's contents are at your disposal! If you'd like to cook yourself breakfast you will find the fridge stocked with local eggs and essentials. Also feel free to help yourself to the giant delicious kale, or whatever else is growing in our garden. Sorry, we are a no bacon household! But "downtown" there is Toymakers Cafe and The Falls Village Inn, or you can venture out to a neighboring town for other great eats in Salisbury, Cornwall or Kent, CT, Millerton, NY, or Great Barrington, MA. The Tri-State area has a lot to offer! We hope you'll come visit!
I love the outdoors, and that is why I love our little house in the woods. We share it with my dog Ellie Mae, who comes with me wherever I go. We like tea and coffee, and there's always plenty around here. We grow food in the spring summer and fall. We live a simple, wood heated, life here on Music Mountain. Come visit, and get away from it all!
