There is a beehive a distance away on the 6 acre property. The honey bees are very calm, mind their own business and, to date, have never stung anyone. But anyone with a bee allergy should bring an Epi-pin just in case.

I am a long term resident of Broad Cove (36 years), a proud Nova Scotian who recognizes, celebrates and savours the fact that we live in a special part of the world. I am recently retired from my work as a health promoter with Public Health Services, Nova Scotia Health. Passions include textile art, organic gardening, cycling, and good food. I love the community and landscape of the beautiful part of Nova Scotia that we live in, and, when asked, like to help visitors discover its many pleasures.
A life motto? While there are many sayings I love, I have "carpe diem" embroidered on a jacket and painted on a wall, so I guess that would have to be it.
