Surrounded by 22 acres of rolling pastures with the high peaks as a back drop, you will feel supremely cozy and tucked away under a fluffy down comforter. Une chambre d'hote a la ferme! Les francophones sentiraient bienvenues--nous parlons francais!

The space

A charming spacious room, the guest quarters are attached to the farmhouse but have their own private entrance and bathroom.

The space is stocked with a variety of teas & coffee, turntable & records (both old and new), books, and games. There is an electric kettle for boiling water and a small fridge for keeping foodstuffs. Guests are invited to stroll the pastures and bask on the lawn!

Guest access

Guests are invited to explore our 22 acres of pasture and visit with our small herd of Brown Swiss cows. Check out our on-site Farm Store where we sell our cave-aged, farmstead cheeses and raw milk along with fresh products from neighboring farms (yogurt, eggs, meats etc)!

Interaction with guests

Margot and I live on the property in an old sugar house and are around almost all the time- staying busy with milking, farm chores, cheesemaking, etc. Guests can have about as much, or as little, interaction with us as they'd like.

Other things to note

This is an active dairy farm complete with accompanying sights, smells. and sounds.

Is this space booked? Check out of other listing, the Sugar House Creamery Carriage Barn.

While there are many animals on this farm, we do not allow guests to bring pets.

We loved this place! Alex and Margot could not have made us feel more genuinely welcome here. The apartment is beautiful, cosy and full of little thoughtful quirks- unusual books, board games and a huge tea selection. You have as much freedom as you want, but also the opportunity to see the farm in action, watch the milking of the happiest cows in the world, smell the hay, and watch Margot making their great cheeses! Dutch knuckle was our favourite, and we're delighted that it has made it home unscathed to the UK to be savoured in the next few weeks. Even with hazy misty weather the walks in the adirondacks, up big slide mountain, were stunning, clean and crisp and wild. Fantastic breakfasts full of home cooking,a and great dinner recommendations too at liquids and solids. Thank you!

Where to start :-) Our stay at Alex and Margo's farmhouse was simply wonderful and we couldn't have wished for a better start to our holiday. We arrived late after a long drive and walked into a wonderfully warm and cosy room, tastefully decorated and with a very homely and cosy feeling. Tea and coffee are readily available and of course the fanastic touch of having a real record player in the farmhouse was for us, something very special. We spent the rest of our evening very relaxed, listening to Carly Simon and Leonard Cohen. We both slept so well on the super comfy mattress and enjoyed a delicious breafast which included Margo and Alex's home made bread which was so tasty. I would recommend Margo and Alex's place to anyone and for anyone who does stay to make sure they enjoy the amazing Adirondack night sky and the morning sunrise as the light changes over the mountains. Both are breathtaking! Thanks again guys for your wonderful hospitality and we wish you both the very best of luck with the dairy...hope we get back sometime to taste the goodies :-)

Sugar House Creamery is one of those special places that cross your path in life that truly are amazing. Best enjoyed by the people making you feel at home and part of the family: Margot, Alex, Harriet and Casey plus the dogs, cats and cows. Thank you. The cheese and bread fed us for well for breakfast and you all helped us plan out days with the type of things that we wanted to do. This place and these people are by far one of the most special places I've visited through Airbnb over the years. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the Adirondack way. Communication was great, the accommodations were immaculate and the well water was fantastic. We loved Willy Nelson on the record player. Thank you.

Being a guest at Alex and Margot's beautiful dairy farm was an absolute treat. Not only is the room in their farm house simply beautiful, but the entire setting is idyllic. Guests are treated to gorgeous mountain views, fresh air, and peaceful, quiet nights. On top of the delicious cheese, butter and fresh bread that awaits you upon arrival, the room has everything you need to be comfortable during your stay, and has some really unique touches that make this airbnb special - like the record player and pour-over coffee station. Alex and Margot were kind enough to let us observe the evening milking and meet some of their bovine beauties in person, as well as answer all of our questions about the milk and cheese-making process. We can't wait to stay here again in the future, an highly recommend this airbnb to anybody who is planning a trip to the Adirondacks. Pack a cooler with you, because you won't want to leave the farm without some extra cheese and other treats from their farm store!

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying on the farm, everything was beautiful and very comfortable. The fresh bread and butter were wonderful too and kept us fed for breakfast for our entire 4 day stay! We'll definitely be returning!

Staying at the Sugar House Creamery was such an amazing experience! The room we stayed in was so charming, and it was a dream to wake up and look out the window at the picturesque views. Everyone at the Creamery was very welcoming, and the room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
