The space

Interior Designer's Home. 14th Century Stone Village House with Grand proportions and all authentic materials preserved. Short walk to all amenities in lively village with two markets a week. Situated in the foothills of the Cevennes, we are surrounded with delightful river swimming holes, canoeing, Horse riding and 40 minutes from the Med. and the Camargue. Montpellier, and Nimes airport are also a 40 minute drive with Marseilles airport a little further. The house is very beautiful with loads of character and has been featured in magazines. Sky TV and Wifi are available within the home. It is a marvellous hunting ground for antiques and objet d'art, having close proximity to the big international antique fairs in Avignon, Beziers, and Montpellier.
We are 35 mins from the beautiful Duchy town of Uzes with it's colourful weekly food market and intersting restaurants. Locally we have the beautiful medieval village of Sauve and the famous pottery town of Anduze, with it's Bambouserie and the little train through the mountains to St Jean de Gard. For the hunters and gatherers in you, the nearby town of Sommieres offers a weekly Brocante market and food market with it's famous little chocolate shop, Along with the summer festivals of Swimming the young bulls and camargue white horses down the river in Sommieres, the area is alive with music and wine festivals all summer long. We promise you a magical time in an authentically French environment.
We don't recommend this house for toddlers due to there being a number of stone staircases.

One of the most amazing places to stay in France. The house is ideally located with gorgeous walks, bountiful markets, and a refreshing watering hole. Miv was very welcoming and helped as much as we needed. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely holiday in Miv's house. It is a fascinating place to stay, there are interesting things to look at in every room and I barely found time to read a book! The house is very comfortable and well equipped, and the location is excellent for the local shops with a larger supermarket at the edge of town - just walking distance in the heat :) I thoroughly recommend staying here.

We loved this house - it's large, comfortable, full of wonderful objects but still very relaxed. A gorgeous part of the world too - lots of lovely spots to walk and the swimming is superb. Miv was extremely helpful, present when we needed her and full of advice.

Miv's house is - simly spoken - great! We lived there for one week and enjoyed every single minute. After arriving we were so impressed that we walk throught the house several times to discover all the charming little details. All in all our holiday was not only very relaxing, but a real esthetic cure. As a souvenir we took a lot of inspirations back home. Thank you so much, Miv!

We had a perfect week long stay in Mivs house and in St Hippolyte during july. We were 7 people and the house lived up to all the expectations we had, even more than what we could have guessed. The house itself and its interior is beautiful in every corner and its exciting to just walk around and look at the things. You have all the comfort needed and lots of different places in the house to choose from when you want to gather everyone together or when you want some privacy. Outdoor and indoor, cosy or open rooms. Mivs ideas and information for us as visitors in the area were very good and also her great hospitality which gave the stay an extra nice touch. St Hippolyte du Fort is one of the most beautiful and authentic villages in this region, this is how we feel after traveling more in the region the weeks after. Everything you need is in the house, its perfect for vacation time or living time. If you want to, there is a cold source from mountains for swimming in hot summers, the best market is in the village and also a great and small bar which seemed like the gathering point for the town, around you have great nature for walking and activities like canoeing. We really recommend Mivs house for a stay!,

I am a professional Interior Decorator working in the UK and France. I live between France and Australia where I have another home in Byron Bay (Coming to this site shortly) I love my life in France. It is full of nature, markets, great ingredients, brocante fairs, film, cafes and history. All the things that turn me on. My Home is a complete reflection of who I am. I travel to India and the Far East for work and to source items for my clients, so the house is full of eclectic finds from the East as well as wonderful funky French things I find here. It is a home to relax in, chill out and forget about strife. It is, I guess, like me,Boho chic. It reflects my background of film, and music, and art. I have wonderful dinner parties here with all the local artists and poets, writers and photographers. We are a happy lot and our homes exude the contentedness of our dispositions. I am planning to visit my grandchildren in NY this summer so the house is yours for three cherishable months. This house has been featured in Harpers & Queen and is shortly to appear in Celebrity decorator Kathryn Ireland's book titled "25 Homes that Inspire me"
