Come explore New York and stay in a beautifully designed, hard-to-find, classic Brooklyn loft space in one of the trendiest areas in the city. I generally travel for the entire months of February and August and rent my place very cheap. I am not trying to make any money, simply pay the bills. Come enjoy an extended stay in a Brooklyn loft at an unbeatable price! Full month rentals only.

The space

Come enjoy my lovely 1100 square foot classic loft in the Fort Greene / Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. I have been in this loft for more than 10 years and it has all the classic charm that comes to mind when you think of a Brooklyn loft. The neighborhood is great with plenty of amenities within a short walk of a block or two.

It is a beautiful space with lots of natural light coming through a wall of old, classic steel framed loft windows. It is well designed and furnished, with high ceilings and an open, spacious feel. It is very comfortable and clean. The buildings across the street are only 2 stories high so the view is nice and open for miles. The windows face east so the sun rises and floods the loft with morning light and keeps the space bright all day.

The bathroom is very big and gets lots of light with a full tub and shower with water filter. The kitchen is spacious and open with plenty of counter space and a island bar with stools where you can sit and eat. Otherwise, there is a giant pace style glass table for proper dining.

There is a new queen sized tempurpedic (cloud supreme) bed, flat screen television, over-sized couch, stereo, record player, wifi, directv, hepa-filter, water filtration system for kitchen tap and shower, dishwasher, and laundry (coin operated on the floor). All cleaning products used are eco-friendly.

The loft is in a classic old warehouse building. . . it is not a new construction or conversion. There is a great roof with 24 hour access with wonderful views and fresh air. It's a perfect place for a bottle of wine.

Everyone that comes into the loft, loves it and feels right at home. It a great space to relax or inspire creativity. Come experience it for yourself...

I have a fair amount of plants and a large fish tank. For extended stays, i kindly ask that the plants be watered and the fish fed. I have some irreplaceable pieces of furniture and collectibles. I simply ask that all tenants respect my home as if it were theirs. There is no smoking within the space. However, if you are a smoker, you can simply walk out into the hallway and smoke by the window. Have fun but treat it as if it were your home.

Couldn't have found a better place to stay while searching for an apt in Brooklyn. Stayed nine nights, and the space was a dream! Full of unique charm and character - beautifully maintained space. Markus was friendly, laid back, fun and forgiving (our puppy had a primal outburst towards a cow skin rug..). Stones throw away from the heart of Williamsburg, short walk to fort green - great location! If your lucky enough to come across this listing, do yourself a favor and indulge in this Brooklyn loft! Thanks Marcus

What an amazing place to stay during a visit to New York, I didn't want to leave. The apartment is so interesting, quirky and homely, and the bed is super comfy. Due to massive Windows it can be a little noisy, however we used the alarm clock to play some relaxing noises which worked a treat. Markus sent us some amazing recommendations for the neighbourhood, which ensured we always had a great place to eat. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I'm lucky enough to visit New York again I would snap this place up.

Fresh, earthy and cultured: a light and airy stay in buzzing Brooklyn If you want streamlined, clinical and sanitised, you're not really in New York for the right reasons. Conversely, if you're broad of mind, willing to delve into the sites and sounds of the mish-mash of cultures of the NYC inhabitants, Marcus' apartment won't disappoint. Marcus is hospitable. He will ensure that you have at least some insight into the area; some of the restaurants and bars located on close proximity are a treat. All you need to do is ask. Fresh Fanatic, a delightful store housing well-sourced organic and health conscious produce, is but a minute or so away. Let's stop short of giving it all away in a review. There's something for everyone. You can tell, upon first entry to the apartment, that Marcus is eclectic of taste. He is well travelled and suffers from the best of afflictions - wanderlust. Upon every shelf, wall and pot, there is a snippet of Marcus' travels. Right there in front of you, presented beautifully and with the air of imposition. They demand that you consume them. They're there to spark your creativity. And they will. New York, New York is a boisterous, evolving, vivid little place. Marcus' apartment is reflective of this; a bookmark to a page in the most real and curious chapter of a book. There is the occasional external noise that can hinder. However, Marcus has thought of a relaxing way to mitigate it. If you suffer from the rare condition of ichthyophobia, feeding the fish in the morning would put you off - albeit they are beautiful fish and this isn't a hindrance. Isn't it telling that it is a struggle to put down our stay. The apartment is a jewel in an artisan-like crown of a city. Nine days in a gem of a base camp for the intrepid city explorer.

We really enjoyed our stay at Markus' loft, and loved the unique space. Special mention must go toward that memory-foam mattress on which we had the best night's sleep in years! Markus was very welcoming prior to and during our trip, sending recommendations for restaurants and sights, and met us on our arrival and talked us through the apartment. It's a little out of the way: access to the subway is about a 15 minute walk to the G train, and about 30 to the F and A/C, but buses can get you there sooner; and sights like Williamsburg and the Brooklyn Bridge are about a 30 minute walk; but this wasn't really an issue for us - the loft was so full of character that we were more than happy to stretch our legs! Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Markus' apartment. The loft was bright, spacious, clean, comfortable, and is as shown in Markus' photos. The apartment is located in a somewhat quiet area but is accessible by subway (about 15 mins walk) and is a short 10-20 mins walk from cafes and restaurants. Unfortunately there was an issue with the bathroom lights during our stay but Markus did his best to send someone to attend to the situation although he was away. It was easy communicating with Markus.

This was my first time booking an Airbnb and it was a great experience! The loft was very comfortable for our 9 day stay, and conveniently located. We were around the corner from the local supermarket, and a 10-15 min walk from great eating. The subway was also a 10min walk away. The loft was perfect for a comfortable night in, when you need a break from seeing all the sights during the day. The loft gets great light during the day time, and the plants and aquarium were great homey touches. The first night, we did hear the factory across the street, but we were fine after the first night. Overall, we had a great trip and the loft was the perfect place to come home to after a long day of exploring the city.

Words cannot describe how amazing our stay was. Markus was a very welcoming host from the first message to the last. Unfortunelty I was never able to meet him in person as he was out of the country yet he still went out of his way to find a way to contact me when he could to answer any questions I had as well as offer any type of assistance. He was very kind and attentive while at the same time giving us more then enough privacy. His home is absolutely beautiful and you can see that he has put so much work into making it as serene and unique as possible which is exactly what it was. We were so lucky to have been able to stay and for a while make that home ours. The area is close to everything and is considered one of the nicest parts of Brooklyn so that was really nice. Parking wasn't difficult at all I was always able to find a spot so if you have a car that's a plus, if you don't no worries again this is super close to everything and this is New York so public transportstion was always available. Markus was nice enough to send me a list of some of his favorite spots and they're all very near so you're close to some really good food! I fully recommend this place I fell in love and really hope to visit again!

I love New York. But as the days go by, I get closer to living in a tree fort in the woods somewhere... near the sea.

I spend most of my free time making music, taking pictures, writing, riding my bike, collecting well crafted old things, traveling, snowboarding, surfing, scuba diving, searching for good food....

Over the past 12 years, I have put a lot of time and effort into my loft space to create a very comfortable and inspiring environment. I feel is highly suited for both relaxation as well as creative thinking. Come stay in Brooklyn and enjoy it for yourself. Looking forward to sharing experiences...
