Description

The space

This true one bedroom beauty is perfectly proportioned in the heart of Covent Garden. If you are viewing this property, it's location simply cannot be rivalled. There are very few residential buildings in the area and I am lucky to call it home!

The apartment has its own bedroom and separate kitchen; allowing the stand alone living room to become a second bedroom should you need it, complete with fold out bed.

Washroom: You shall find a completely updated washroom where you can take a shower, read a magazine, or just look at yourself in the mirror. (I tend to do the latter for long periods of time) What? It's a great mirror. The bathroom will always come stocked with plenty of white fluffy towels and all the essential toiletries such as shampoo, shower gel and hand soap that you need to ensure that you have a comfortable stay in London.

Hallway: Floor to ceiling mirrors make for the perfect space to admire your beauty! Here you will also find a phone entry system. Security is of the upmost importance. Feel safe knowing you are staying in a gated building.

Kitchen:
This wonderful, updated integrated kitchen comes complete with dishwasher, washer/dryer, full length fridge freezer, and of course cooking facilities such as oven, grill, hobs. Now that you're in London, treat yourself to some stocked up tea and coffee as you overlook the courtyard. Go on... it's on me :)

Living room: Beautiful wooden floors throughout the entire property. The living room really is the hub of this home. Look out of your window and see the top of the wonderful Library and Museum of Freemasonry. Living on the fourth floor sure does have its perks! Within the living room you will also find a fold out sofa bed that easily sleeps two, dining table and chairs, TV, internet and once again, more storage.

Bedroom:
After a long day of sight seeing, come home from the theatre, put your feet up and catch those zzzzz's. The bedroom is very cozy, inviting and the perfect space to sleep two. Once again, floor to ceiling sliding doors open up to wonderful storage to place all your fancy "london vacation" clothes.

Guest access

The entire home is yours :) Cleaned professionally with fresh luxury linens, it's prepared for each new visitor.

The home is on the 4th floor of this historic red brick building. I like to call it my penthouse pied-a-terre. I know, I'm fancy.
You're now staying in London, one of the oldest Cities in the World. Given its nature, the building has stuck to its roots; like most historic buildings in Central London, there is not an elevator.

Interaction with guests

My friends at Hostmaker are looking after my home while I am away. They are an Airbnb management service team who know London and Airbnb like the back of their hand! I trust them to give you a warm welcome! Hostmaker will look after you. If you have any questions about your stay, please get in touch through the Airbnb platform. Our main goal is to make sure you have a great stay in my home!

The neighbourhood

Covent Garden in London's West End is a popular destination for visitors and Londoners who enjoy shopping, theatre, restaurants, bars, history and culture.

Geographically, Covent Garden is located in Central London, bordered by the City of London and Leicester Square. It is within walking distance of Soho, the river Thames and Trafalgar Square.

There are several smaller areas within Covent Garden that are worth exploring such as the traffic-free Covent Garden market piazza, The Opera Quarter, St Martin's Courtyard, Seven Dials, Neal's Yard, and Floral Street.

Be aware not to confuse Covent Garden Market with New Covent Garden market, which is elsewhere in London.

Things to see in and around Covent Garden
You will find many of London's top attractions in Covent Garden and the surrounding area:

London Transport Museum
The Royal Opera House home of The Royal Ballet
Covent Garden Market
St Martin-in-the-Fields Church
Somerset House including The Courtauld Gallery
Leicester Square
Trafalgar Square
National Gallery
Covent Garden is also well known for its street theatre in the piazza area.

Theatre in Covent Garden
There are many shows to see in Covent Garden's theatres. From West End musicals to classic plays and comedies, there is a wide range of staged entertainment in the area. Some of the more famous shows and theatres include:

The Lion King at the Lyseum Theatre
Stomp at the Ambassadors Theatre
Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre
The Woman in Black at Fortune Theatre
War Horse at The New London Theatre
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Savoy Theatre
Find out what's on in London when you visit.

Things to do in Covent Garden: Shopping
Shop for the latest fashion, shoes, cosmetics, art and crafts in Covent Garden.

The area has become a destination for premium brands such as Burberry and Apple Store Covent Garden. Explore Covent Garden shops in The Opera Quarter, St Martin's Courtyard, Seven Dials and Neal's Yard.

At the heart of Covent Garden is the market with its quirky craft stalls and emerging designer boutiques.

Things to do in Covent Garden: Restaurants and Bars
There's a diverse range of Covent Garden restaurants and bars: from Indian food at Dishoom, to Mexican street food at Wahaca, to late night cocktails at Dirty Martini and a huge range of beers at The Porterhouse.

Enjoy a cheap pre-theatre pizza at Fire and Stone or Italian at Spaghetti House St Martin's Lane; take in the people-watching potential of Scoff & Banter or Tuttons; or splash out on an elegant meal at Michelin-starred L'Atelier De Joel Robuchon or Rules, London's oldest restaurant.

Getting around

Travel to Covent Garden
Covent Garden station is the most centrally located transport option in the area, sitting on the Piccadilly Line of the Tube. Alternatively, use Charing Cross station, Leicester Square station, or Holborn station, which are all roughly 5-10 minutes' walk away.

Many London buses travel close to but not through Covent Garden itself. Take a bus to Trafalgar Square then walk through the historic streets.

If you're going to be in London for more than a day, it's worth buying a Visitor Oyster Card in advance. The Visitor Oyster Card is delivered to your home before you arrive in London. It is one of the easiest ways to get around London.

If you do not have a Visitor Oyster Card, but still plan to travel around London for more than a day, buy an Oyster card at the Tube station.

Another great local tip is to download the Citymapper app. This free app will plan your journey for you efficiently and quickly. It gives you a variety of different transport options such as bike, rail, tube and Uber taxi. It will also take you step by step through your journey as you travel and notify you when you are nearing your destination.

There are also plenty of buses in the area, which are a great way of travelling if you like to have a peek at your surroundings as you travel.

My husband, two daughters (ages 11 & 14) and I just stayed at Anand's place for a week. His apartment is cute and cozy and way more convenient than staying in a hotel. (full kitchen!) The biggest bonus, however, is the location. It's close to several tube stations and loads of shops, restaurants and theaters. We had such a great trip and would definitely stay at Anand's again!

Anand's flat was perfectly located in Covent Garden, walking distance to several different neighborhoods and main tube lines. Traveling in from the airport is a breeze and the flat is quiet, tucked away off the main road. Would recommend to anyone traveling to London, business or fun!

Me and my teenage daugthers have been very happy with the wonderful apartment. It is small, but we appreciate the two seperate rooms and the small kitchen which is well equipped. The location is superb and still the flat is very quit. Anand and the team were really helpful. We highly recommend this apartment for a London stay!

Want a quiet area but right in the middle of the action? This is definitely the best place for it. Convenience and easily accessible. That's not the best part. The best part is the apartment which is lovely and warm and Anand and team were great and made us feel at home. Definitely an apartment to be in when in London.

5 things I can't live without:
1) The Sister Act 2 soundtrack
2) PIZZA!
3) My macbook
4) My camera
5) Did I mention the Sister Act 2 soundtrack?
