Other things to note

Please know that this is not a party house.
While we have hosted and enjoyed wonderful guests in our home, we had the unfortunate experience of hosting a guest who disregarded our house rules and invited many people to our home to "visit". We had to turn many of his invited guests away from our property and had a very unsettling weekend. We like and respect our neighbors and are careful not to disturb them.
We are a family-oriented airbnb. We are not a good fit if you are looking to have visitors use our home as a landing place for showers, dining, drinking and all of hour of night comings and goings. An area hotel would be a better choice. We appreciate your understanding.

We had a great stay at Bernie & Rosie's! It was very comfortable to hang out in during our down time- we loved the big patio outside as well as the kitchen and living room spaces. The bedrooms were very comfortable- the furniture throughout all the rooms is very New England and we loved the feel of the space. Bernie and Rosie were excellent hosts- very willing to accommodate the check in and check out times we needed, very responsive to questions and requests, and they provided delicious breakfast! They are very friendly and pleasant and we would have loved to spend more time chatting with them! The child's room was perfectly set up which made our stay with a baby so convenient. We highly recommend staying here- it was a pleasure and we were very glad we chose to stay here instead of a hotel.

My family enjoyed the stay at Rosie and Bernie's house. Rosie greeted us when we arrived. She was very nice and showed us around the place. The room and bath are clean with enough room space for us. Specially enjoyed the breakfast that Rosie prepared for us. She also prepared the detailed instruction like a real hotel that make us feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place for a family when you need more rooms.

Rosie and Bernie were the best hosta ever! They were super sweet and very hospitable. We were in town for my sister's graduation and there was 6 of us total including my 6 year old son. We had more than enough room to house us all and there was even a children's room with books and toys for him. Every morning, Rosie and Bernie brought up breakfast with fruit and some really good juice. I am so glad we found their listing. If we ever find ourselves in this area again, I would definitely stay with them again!

The hosts made us feel very welcome. They both greeted us when we arrived and showed us the apartment. It was exactly as described in the listing. The separate room with a crib was perfect for our family needs. The hosts even provided great little continental breakfasts both mornings. They were very gracious and were very helpful in recommendations for local restaurants and offered to be of any assistance we could need. Location was easy to get to and great to get around Providence and surrounding areas.

Flexible with arrival time and last minute additional guests; easy and prompt communication. Proximity to downtown Providence, neighborhood feel with a playground up the street, great Seven Stars Bakery and takeout pizza at Avenue N, cozy home with some books and a few toys for kids, awesome breakfast from the hosts--thanks for having the little things like a hairdryer, plastic sandwich bags and water in the fridge.

The accommodation itself was quintessential New England, clean, comfortable and close to my alma mater Brown University, which I was visiting for the weekend. Breakfast was provided Saturday morning, which was a pleasant surprise. The hosts themselves were rather rude, unwelcoming and disrespectful. I had group of four staying at the listing that arrived throughout Friday afternoon from their respective locations with their drivers. I was the last to arrive in Rhode Island around 5:30pm and everyone needed to shower and get ready for an evening event after a day’s work and time on the road. Around 6:30pm the hosts came upstairs and accused the 7 males in the apartment who were showering, getting dressed, or in the kitchen eating of having a party. I calmly told them it’s NOT a party, there are only four people staying in the apartment, and that the extra three people were drivers/passengers and were getting ready as we all planned to head out together. Nonetheless, we complied with the host’s requests for the extra people to leave and everyone quickly and quietly showered/got ready and left. That night around 4:30am, two of the guests arrived back to the apartment to the house bolted and sign: “We found it necessary to lock the door due to your violation of the Airbnb rental agreement. Call us upon your return and we will let you and three guests in.” After calling, the hosts refused to let the two guests in because all four people in the group were not together. Our valuables and belonging were in the house and the hosts continued to state that we planned to throw a party (at 4:30am) and would not let any guests in until all four arrived. The guests complained it was cold and dark, and the owner continued to refuse entry and stated that they had to wait outside in the cold, like dogs. I arrived around 5am, with the fourth guest and the owner continued to make snide remarks before we made our way to the apartment. The next morning, one of the hosts approached a guest as he was heading out and, in a rude tone, demanded to know who he was, how many people were upstairs etc. and that they were fed up. The guest calmly and respectfully reminded her that he was one of the four guests staying in the apartment, and the host retorted back, “You better be”. Upon checkout on Sunday morning, the owner continued to make snide and rude remarks as we headed to our car. His wife, from the window then proceeded to yell out “Don’t ever stay here again n*****!” I was extremely shocked and dismayed at the lack of decorum displayed by the wife. I told the owners I’m very disappointed that in November 2015 such acts of racism was still prevalent. Her foul remarks made it clear that the owners were biased towards people of color and helped explain the basis for their rude behavior all weekend.
