The space

The room is part of a former watermill. This exceptional building is in a calm and beautiful place. Many walks to do in a handsome region in which there are many medieval castles and picturesque villages. A creek runs at fifty yards (fishing is possible). All kind of shops can be found at less than 10 miles. The owners live in the same house. They speak french, english, spanish and ...hungarian ! The room, on second floor, has its own bathroom with shower, washing bowl and toilet, a small balcony, TV and new furniture. The breakfasts are generous and familiar. They are served on first floor and consist in tea or coffee, brioche, bread, home made preserve and cheese.
Christine and Stephan are retired jewellers and sculptors. They travel abroad during winter. From May to end of September they are dedicated to their hosts.beside travelling, they love archeology, art and meeting people. For them, beyond a business, having hosts is an occasion for discovering french or foreign travelling people with the possibility of exchanging experiences and ideas.
This fraction of the department of Indre was formerly part of the province of Berry. The Moulin de Chantouant is in the Boischaut ( this is a word of local dialect which means "bocage" and which describes quite well this area) . Here, you will feel "far from everything, at the end of the wordl". But you will be close to all businesses, to pharmacies and doctors. In one word to everything necessary. Our hosts will find here the possibility of go rambling around the mill, to swim in the lake of Chaillac or to admire the splendid castle of Château Guillaume (in the same commune). Or, simply, the possibility of resting.
The price of 60 euros is for one night and two persons. Starting from the second night it is of 50 euros per night. One person alone will be asked to pay 54 euros for one night and, starting from the second night, 44 euros per night.

Stephan and Christine were very friendly and happy to share with us their experiences of travelling. Unfortunately there were not many local restaurants open, but they went to a lot of trouble finding us somewhere to eat dinner. Access to the house is through a shared front door,…

What a treat! Christine and Stephan were not just welcoming hosts (they felt like long lost relatives and we were only there for one night), but they are among the most interesting people we've had the privilege to meet. Creative, artistic and living life to the full, their ab…
