This home was the former New Haven Yacht Club. There r 3 bedrm suites with Queen beds, privt baths with an amazing view of the sound, sunsets. The current NHYC has moved to a smaller facility on the same road.

The space

The glassed-in porch that wraps around the house has the best view of New Haven and West Haven sound, harbor and then skyline at night. The house is bright, has the most spectacular sunsets, and resort like feeling. It is a direct waterfront and the waves will lull you to sleep. The rooms are spacious.

Guest access

2 kitchens, living room, bar room, porch, laundry room, outdoor patio, use of kayaks with life jackets.

Interaction with guests

I am a nurse and have lived in the area most of my life so I am available to help with directions, advise about the best restaurants especially the gems only the locals know about, events, activities, etc.

Other things to note

Tweed New Haven airport is a short drive. Morris cove is a safe neighborhood at all times.

It was an absolute pleasure spending the weekend at Joyce and Pat's place. The house is incredible, and the room is more than we could ever have asked for. Breathtaking views, so quiet, and so much space. My boyfriend and I felt completely relaxed the whole time - Joyce and Pat give you the perfect balance of attention and your own space. Offers of fresh watermelon, lifts from the train station and kayak rides, but we also felt like we were the only ones in the house when we were in our room. Thank you so much for having us - I highly recommend and wouldn't want you to change a thing!

Pat is a great host with an incredible house. He gave us lots of privacy and was available for any questions. We came in a bit late and he stayed up to show us around - the room and bathroom were clean. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of coffee and there is a guest fridge with some goodies. The views were amazing! The sound of the waves hitting the shore put us to sleep and the sun woke us up in the morning. Perfect getaway!

Pats house is a great place to enjoy the sea and the beach. The lighthouse pond park next to his house has a wonderful beach, restaurant and a water playground. His room was clean and calm and we had an awesome view over the sea and beautiful sunset in the evening.

The view is fantastic, hands down the best part of our stay. The walk to the lighthouse park had the best sunset view ever. The bed and room are comfortable, but the bathroom was not really up to par as far as cleanliness goes. Host is friendly, but likes to talk about politics.
