Enjoy a night in The Groom's Quarters B&B at award winning Moose Meadows Farm. Beautiful 24' x 24' private room in the upstairs of a barn fully equipped with many modern conveniences. Enjoy an evening stroll on the farm and experience the barnyard with all of its sounds and sights. Located in the rural community of Bouchie Lake 15 km. west of the City of Quesnel, Moose Meadows Farm is home to a wide assortment of animals (alpacas, donkeys, horses, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, etc.).

The space

24' x 24' private room in the upstairs of a barn. Cuddle up with an alpaca blanket, sleep under an alpaca duvet, and fully enjoy this lovely room equipped with wifi, flat screen TV, DVD player, bar fridge, intercom, hot plate, water cooler, double bed, and futon couch. Facilities are just outside and downstairs... a double hole outhouse. There is NO SHOWER OR PLUMBED IN RUNNING WATER on-site. For showers, you can travel into Quesnel to enjoy the pool, steam room, weight room and sauna at the Quesnel and District Arts & Recreation Centre or travel west to Sylvia's Cafe where there is both laundry and showers on-site. Lots of board games & books available too. Sauna and wood fired hot tub on-site too. These can be lite up for an additional fee. The hot tub needs 6-8 hours to heat so please let us know well in advance if you would like to enjoy it. Towels can be provided.

NEW*** We are excited to announce that we now have a cob (wood fired earthen oven) on-site which perfects the baking of bread, pizza and cinnamon buns. If you wish to enjoy a oven baked pizza for supper, please let us know. We can light the oven for an additional fee.

Guest access

Enjoy an evening stroll up into the "back 40" acres or simply tour the barnyard and meet and greet all the 2 and 4 legged animals that make Moose Meadows Farm their home.

Interaction with guests

Both Heloise and Ted, your hosts, are able to provide you with information on the area and make some recommendations on places to visit that are close by. Many beautiful lakes, rivers, and trails in the area along with well known historic sites.

Other things to note

Staying on a farm can be exciting. There are many 2 and 4 legged critters to spend time with. These animals can also be vocal. Roosters do crow at night sometimes as do geese honk and donkeys bray. We try to encourage our animal friends to be considerate of our guests who stay the night but sometimes they feel the need to vocalise.
Although the Groom's Quarters has many modern conveniences and is very comfortable, there is NO SHOWER & /or plumbed in running water on-site.

I planned to stay with Heloise but due to the wildfires we had to cancel spontaneously. She was really helpful and understanding. Thanks a lot!

If you like a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with different farm animals wandering around you will love Moose Meadows! Ted and Heloise make your stay memorable. After spending the day exploring or visiting with our son, we would return to our private room above the workshop in the barn, to some yummy treat made for us, such as, home made bread, rhubarb crisp or a bowl of chocolate covered almonds. Oh yeah and cinnamon rolls!!! Tasty weekend breakfasts were made by Ted! During the week, Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, and scones were served, with homemade jelly. We were lucky to have our son living in Quesnel, so we could shower daily as there was no running water in the barn. It's a great glamping place, with plenty of private space.

This place is for people who love farm life. We were able to roam amongst horses goats alpacas chickens cats and dogs. I was in pardise. Heloise and her husband were kind enough to provide us with fresh baked bread, milk and eggs. I personally loved the outhouse but please keep in mind that this space has no running water. Overall really appreciated this nook of paradise!
