One of the best location in Budapest... Flat is located at the heart of Fashion street, across to Kempinski Hotel. The flat is very spacious, no no HUGE and has a fancy terrace ( common terrace but you have your own area, separated by trees ) Peter is a very good & kind host, his communication is also good.

Hi Attila, thanks for the stay here in the heart of Budapest! The area is super central. Close to most of the tourist amenities. Thanks!!

The appartment is very dark. There are few windows, and the windows are mainly obscured by walls from inside the appartment block and from the Kempinski hotel. This was not at all a luxury experience. The flat is very old, and everything is a bit worn and old. There was insufficient cleaning, and small things like no washing up liquid, no bin liners, etc. are not helpful. Also, there is a smell of old/damp stuff in the kitchen area. On the positive side, there is a large balcony (although mainly with the view obstructed, and of which you can only use a small part). Also positive was the fact that the internet works well and that it is centrally located. If the price was set for backpackers, then this would not be so bad, but this is very high for Budapest, and not at all luxury.

Response from Kft:
Dear Future Guests! First of all we are really sorry Jan did not enjoy his stay in the apartment. Next time he should chose a brand new, modern building not a national monument. When he arrived, he was asked if he liked it and he said yes and he wanted to stay. 1, Jan is right. The apartment is old as the house was built in 1911, it is protected by law as it is a national asset in Hungary. It was built in the era’s most modern architectural style, Art Deco. Originally one of the most famous Hungarian noble family owned it. A prime minister of Hungary came from this family a bit later. The apartment belongs to descendants of another famous noble family even now. 2. Jan is right. The apartment is dark especially from evening to morning. This time it is advised to switch the lights on. In the pics of the apartment in the advert anyone can clearly see the sizes of the windows, which are actually big. In the photos you can also see when the living room and the master bedroom are bathing in sunlight. Luckily the opposite Kempinsky is built in U shape, so the street and the apartment is not obscured by the (concave walls of the ) hotel. Also the street is pretty wide compared with the usual narrow streets of downtown. 3. Jan is right. When we entered the apartment after they left, there was a bad smell. It was caused by the rotten garbage left in an open bag next to the cupboard. We (and our usual guests) collect garbage into a covered bin under the sink. Apparently Jan did not use it. ( washing up liquid, bin liners were also under the sink) When the cleaner took out the trash –what a surprise- the smell disappeared. 4. Jan is wrong because the apartment was not dirty, It was cleaned thoroughly and was also checked by the owner. 5. Our young guest forgot to mention the warm welcome , the 4 kinds of welcome drink in the fridge ( 2 kids of red wine, soft drink and energy drink) 6. Obviously he is not interested in the historical surroundings, the modern architectural solutions and the unique mixture of the modern furnishing and the archaic spirit of the early 20th century. The redecoration and renewal of the apartment was designed by a famous architect who restored the rooms, the stucco on the ceiling, the alcoves on the walls, the rosetta to their original state and mixed these with the modern style of the tiled rooms. The apartment was fully renewed and refurbished 2 years ago. All furnishing and appliances are new. Jan was not touched by the special, real marble tiles, the real wood floor and the unique engraved glass in the doors that were admired by all of our guests and tenants. In the past 20 years this apartment was rented long term by Danish, American, Japanese and French CEOs of multinational companies. They appreciated the historical surroundings so all of them renewed the lease of the apartment with another 2-3 years after their contracted time. We have only been here online for a month or so to check this opportunity. Thanks Jan for his detailed, rude and ill-disposed review. Also thanks Jan for the advice but we will not take it. The apartment is really luxury level. It is obviously not for backpackers. ( ??!!??) We suggest Jan not book an apartment in a historical national monument building if he does not have a sense of history. We do not understand why he chose our apartment , if he did not like it---the pics shows the apartment clearly… There are a lot of apartments in downtown he could have chosen from. In the future we are still happy to accommodate every guest who likes this special apartment and can appreciate it. Thank you for reading !!!
