A nice single room in Oslo's most popular neighborhood!

The space

Hei!

A room for one in Oslo's hottest neighborhood! Single bed, clean and quiet. Fully-furnished accomodation with a cozy living room, full kitchen and bathroom with heated floors.

AREA:
The apartment is located in central Oslo and situated in the very popular artistic & trendy area of Grünerløkka. It is close to many restaurants, markets and clothing stores, a 24/7 convenient store and is a short 3 min. walk away from the tram station where line No.11, 12 and 13 run regularly to Oslo Central Station (Oslo S) (9-12min. by tram). Bus No. 30 also runs frequently. Very easy to get around and a lovely neighborhood to explore. Rignes movie theater is a five minute walk away and the Munch Museum and Botanical Garden are a short 15 minute walk away. The main station (Oslo S) is just a 15-20 minute walk away.

ROOM: Room is 6m2 with a single bed (w 90cm), dresser with shelves, a nightstand table and door rack for hanging clothes. Has a window and a great heater (a necessity in the Norwegian winter!).

APARTMENT:
The apartment is 63m2 and newly renovated. Kitchen with fridge, freezer, oven and all of kitchen utensils you could ever need. Bathroom with shower and heated floor tiles. Comfy and modern living room with a large sofa, cable tv, and a dining room table. Wireless internet throughout the apartment.

You can come and go as you please and will be provided with your own key. The price includes clean sheets and towels. We also have a hairdryer if you are wondering :) You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook your breakfast/lunch/dinner.

ME:
My husband and I also live in the apartment in the second bedroom though we are not around much. We love to host visitors to Oslo and provide them with information and tips about the city, what to see, to eat and to experience. I once was an Oslo tourist myself!

Check in/check out is flexible. Please no smoking, pets or shoes inside ☺

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I hope to hear from you soon!

*long term tenants will be included in the electricity bill

I stayed here for 10 weeks while undertaking a summer internship and it was exactly what I had hoped for. The room is as shown in the photos – a bit wider than the length of the bed and full of natural light thanks to a large window. The apartment also has a good-sized living area with sofas and a dining table, which I was always welcome to use. Thanks to the price of eating out in Norway, I used the kitchen a lot and can safely say it contains all the pots, pans and utensils any mildy-enthusiastic cook should need. I’m used to dodgy British boilers so to have a high-power shower that gets hot quickly and doesn’t suddenly become freezing when someone runs the tap elsewhere in the apartment was such a luxury too! I had no idea about Grunerlokka when I arrived but am so pleased I got to experience living here. It’s a really nice area full of boutiques and a couple of really good coffee bars – a bit like the Shoreditch of Oslo but tidier and with more young families. There are at least 3 different supermarkets all within a 5-minute walking distance and the nearby river Akerselva is a great running route. I also followed it North out of the city a couple of times to go for long walks around Lake Maridal, which was fun. 3 different trams routes pass the nearby stop so you never have to wait for long if you want to go into the centre – Oslo S station is about 10 minutes away by bus or tram or about 25 minutes if you walk. Elisabeth and Petter were great hosts, always friendly and willing to help with any bureaucratic challenges that cropped up. Even when away on holiday they were incredibly quick to respond to my questions. So yeah, I had a great time and can definitely recommend the listing to anyone looking for a room in Oslo for either a short or longer stay.

Very friendly hosts and nice flat in central location close to the tram. The kitchen and bathroom were well equipped. Neighbourhood is very friendly and quiet and several supermarkets are close by. I can recommend it for a short stay in Oslo.

Thanks to Elisabeth and Petter, this has been a wonderful stay. The two are fantastic hosts, and I can only recommend to stay with them. The room itself is not as small as one might think, and very nice furnished, as the whole apartment. Everything is clean and tidy, the heater is running fine even through the cold Norwegian winters, the kitchen is simply awesome and very well equipped. And the cherry on top, the flat is located in one of the most liveliest and interesting areas of Oslo. Big thumbs up!!

I am sooo thankful to Elisabeth and Petter for having me in their lovely home and making me feel welcome in Oslo for the entire six weeks there. They are a charming couple, and wonderful hosts – friendly, helpful, and honest. The apartment itself was great, just as described in the listing. It's situated in a vibrant neighbourhood, where you're never far from action, and anything you might need is within reach. Overall I have to recommend staying with Elisabeth and Petter to anyone visiting Oslo, whether for a few days or a few weeks.
