Park for free
This is one of the few places in the area with free parking.
Set in a peaceful rural location with 360 degree views. Suitable for groups of all ages, with provision of high chairs and cots and no steps access. Loads of outdoor recreation space to explore. Just 10 minutes drive to Huonville, with easy reach of the Huon Valley's tourist hot spots and only 500 metres from trout fishing on the Huon river. A 15 minute drive from the Jimmy Watson Trophy award-winning Home Hill Wines and the Summer Kitchen bakery's great breads, pastries, pies and coffee.
The space
With 4 queen-sized bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms the house can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people.. Upstairs and downstairs living areas and loads of outdoor spaces provide freedom for guests to roam around. The farm house was designed in Finland with the interior all arctic pine and arctic spruce structured around partially exposed laminated posts and beams manufactured from sustainably sourced timber. The house faces due north, with the covered 30sq metre front terrace (and the upstairs "cocktail lounge" terrace) providing protection from summer sun while in the winter the sun streams inside through the floor to ceiling double glazed windows and doors. The house carries an officially assessed 8 star energy rating.
Guest access
In total the property is around 12 acres. Guests have access to all the house, the "home paddock" with lots of grass areas for games, the farm and its tree plantation, the fruit tree orchard and "the hill" the scaling of which gives spectacular views. In terms of wildlife, the stands of Tasmanian blackwood trees host a myriad of small birds, while from time to time wombats are in residence on the hill and a wandering local platypus is in the dam.

Neighbourhood highlights
Primarily small landholdings. Wonderful views in all directions and within 500 metres of the Huon river and its wonderful trout fishing. The farm itself is arranged into a home paddock with plenty of space for the amenities provided such as backyard cricket, soccer with small goal nets, tennis racquets and balls, boules etc. Other paddocks are used for tree growing, as well as agisting cattle, goats and sometimes sheep. A creek separates the level paddocks from the steep hill which is worth going up for the spectacular view.

Julie and her partner, Richard, love spending time in the Huon Valley. They enjoy the natural beauty and the amazing food of the Valley along with the slower pace of life. Our Co-hosts, Kiri and Luke, live on a neighbouring farm and manage the day to day running of our property.
