Really this is about rooftop access to THE BEST place to watch the fireworks from for two people without needing to deal with boats or too many drunk people. There's a queen bed in a studio unit too. Its a bit full with equipment but this is 1 night.

The space

Great value cosy and sunny studio in sought after neighbourhood close to city, restaurants, cafes, transport. Ideal for travellers. For NYE - the place is full of stuff - so it is being hired out more for the rooftop than a clean studio... the studio is clean but there is a lot of equipment taking up room... most of your night should be on the roof anyway!

Studio unit and rooftop when it is available.

Minimal. As needed.

The neighbourhood is like being in the Paris for Sydney!

Plenty - bus, train, taxi.

Guest access

Part of the studio - bed, kitchen, rooftop...amazing rooftop.

Interaction with guests

On arrival... possibly at one stage during NYE and then on exit inspection. Don't want the place trashed :)

Scott's place is fantastic. I had such a great stay, worth every penny. The view from the rooftop is spectacular, and the place is very conveniently located, 5 minute walk to a subway station, a couple of minutes to a supermarket and actually walking distance to the Opera and the Circular Quay. Scott is also a very nice host, who had filled the fridge so that I wouldn't have to go shopping right away. All in all, thanks Scott!

Scott's place was perfect for a one-night stopover in Sydney. Easy to find, in a great neighbourhood, it fit the bill perfectly. It's tiny and contained everything I needed. The building and some of the fittings are old and could do with a lick of paint and finishing touches - but these are very minor cosmetics. Scott was friendly, very responsive and checked to make sure everything was in order. The rooftop view and entertaining area is amazing. World class.

Scott's place is a cosy & comfortable studio incredibly well-placed in Potts Point. There are a number of cafes just down the road, you can walk into the middle of the CBD in 40 minutes if you're into walking, and oh my god, the view from the rooftop is incredible! I was recommended a restaurant from a friend in Sydney for its view, and it was nothing in comparison to the view from that roof. The photo in the posting doesn't do it justice. You can see the entire city & bay - I can't imagine many better vantage points. I had a fantastic time, Scott is a very polite, welcoming and generous host and I would absolutely stay there again and recommend that you do as well.

On arriving at the Airbnb Scott met me and my friend outside the apartment and even let us park in his spot underneath the building which was an awesome unexpected bonus seeing as the street parking was hopeless. We had the apartment for NYE. As was already discussed before booking (it was last minute) the apartment had a lot of Scott's filming equipment in it which took up quite a bit of space, however Scott reflected this in the price of the apartment and was open about it before booking, so this presented no trouble for us at all. Especially considering the multi-million dollar view available on the roof, which really is the creme de la creme folks. We were able to watch the stunning NYE fireworks with a 360 degree panoramic view of Sydney, with all the major landmarks as centrepieces. It was honestly an unparalleled experience for both of us. Even without the fireworks this view will absolutely take your breath away. The apartment and area has great vibes, just moments away from Wolloomooloo Wharf and Kings Cross, as well as easy access to public transport with buses around the area and Kings Cross station about a 10 minute walk away. The apartment was on the 2nd floor with a lift which was easy, got a beautiful breeze through the apartment and you can just see the tip of the harbour bridge through the window (nothing compared to the roof though, trust me). Scott had the apartment ready clean for us with fresh sheets and was extremely accommodating and friendly. We had some trouble with regards to getting on the roof for NYE as it was ticketed and Scott went absolutely above and beyond to make sure that we would be able to get up, we didn't even have to worry. The bed was comfortable, and Scott had basic toiletries, towels, and a fully equipped kitchen. Although we weren't able to appreciate the full size of the apartment because of the equipment it was most certainly ample room for two people to comfortable enjoy a shorter or longer stay. All in all we had a fantastic experience. I'd like to thank Scott for having us in his home and allowing us to have a new years we certainly will not forget! I 100% recommend staying with Scott for your stay in Sydney, enjoy a cold one on the roof for me ;)

Scott's apartment is amazing. it's location really is second to non! the staying in the quiet residential area of potts point really does give you a taste of living in sydney. The apartment is just a short walk from shops and restaurants in potts point and a equidistance walk to the amazing restaurants of ' the wharf' and Harrys Cafe de Wheels in Woolloomooloo. Scott is a great host, shows you the apartment and leaves you to enjoy your holiday. Hopefully i will return to Sydney in the future and i would definitely try to stay at scotts again. The apartment is tastefully decorated in the shabby chic style with a big comfortable bed.

By no means am I an art collector but I have a limited few favourite things hanging on the wall. Looking out for challengers to open as many internet sessions as I do and to empathise with resulting low internet speeds. Rediscovering since I found @alanhungover. When I travel it has been a little like Hangover in the past... but that is well in the past. Several weeks in Qatar grew my comfort for 5 star and perfect neatness whilst I also like the french, relic, beach and glamping styles too.

As a host I am afraid I am not really all that available but a small amount of hilarious introduction may be possible depending on my schedule...I "work" ridiculous hours and travel. As a guest I am either out and about soaking it up or glued to a not much trouble... now and then do get time to philosophize with a stranger.

My life motto is (as Airbnb says I should have one here): Be good to the snakes (Barry White).
