Attic room in a tall Victorian semi detached house. South facing room with the best views in Bristol. Small double bed (4 ft) that is OK for 2. Usually a cup of tea on the go. Tasty breakfast. Great location, bus, train and short walk to town.

The space

An attic room with a sloping roof painted in a fresh green. The USP of this room is its wonderful view looking over Bristol and on a good day you can see the University of Bath! Three-quarter bed (or small double) that is comfortable for one but OK for 2. The bed is a vintage French one. You are at the top of the house and the bathroom and toilet are one floor down. You are welcome to make tea and coffee and you will have a tasty continental breakfast. Lovely sunny south facing garden with hammock and tables and benches for quiet time out. Bedroom, kitchen for breakfast, bathroom and toilet (shared) and garden. Garage for bikes.

Guest access

Bedroom, kitchen for breakfast and making drinks but not for cooking meals, bathroom and garden. Safe parking for bikes.

Interaction with guests

We are a couple with grown up children. I work from home most days. So I am very happy to share a cup of tea and a chat with guests who want to know what to see and where to go. Otherwise we are happy to let you do your own thing.

Other things to note

Tall house so lots of stairs. It is not an ideal house for anyone living with disabilities - but we would always try to help. Unsuitable for young children.

I was made to feel very welcome. The room is spacious, cosy and with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was very good including a variety of fresh fruit and cereals. I enjoyed talking to Cecilia and Jonty.

This makes a comfy base to explore Bristol, very close to the restaurants, cafes and street art of Stokescroft and within walking distance of central Bristol. The house is older but well-kept, and Cecilia was very friendly and helpful with maps and lots of things to do and see in Bristol as well as various local history. I had a lovely weekend here.

We had a wonderful stay with Cecilia and Jonty in their wonderful, colourful and sunny home. They were welcoming and interesting, and thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Cecilia made a great breakfast, supplied everything we might need during our stay and took the time to sit and give us some of her insight on the city with maps and guides. The house is in a great location too. Thank you!

Cecilia was welcoming and friendly from the start of my stay right throughout. She was attentive and sure to help in everyway she could. I felt very at home in her house with her and her husband, alot of nice conversations but also was able to feel independent with my time. Finally, I really enjoyed her fruit compote she made for every breakfast- very homely. Would definitely visit again for its great location in beautiful Montpelier, and great spacious room with a lovely view of Bristol.

Cecilia and Jonty made my brief stay in Bristol very convenient and comfortable. They are warm and welcoming hosts, and are happy to provide as much information regarding the local area as you need. They have thought of everything you might need for an agreeable stay, from towels to toiletries, and even drinking water on the bedside table. The room is lovely, and I found the bed incredibly comfy. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and would not hesitate to book again on future trips to the area. I have already recommended them to a couple of friends. Thanks again for being such delightful hosts.

Cecilia User ProfileCecilia is a superhost.

I am semi-retired but I still do a few days work in public health. I have a husband and 2 grown up daughters and have just become a granny for the first time. I spent my childhood in Wales but have lived in the great city of Bristol UK for 40 years. I love to travel and spent 3 years in Latin America working for health programmes. I am a cyclist and try to keep fit.
I work from home and I love tea and chats. I am a bit of a hoarder for all sorts of things. I have visited Australia many times to see my brother. Last year I made it to Tasmania which was wonderful and went to Sydney for the second time. I speak Spanish and can get by in French and a bit of Portuguese.
