Our Johannesburg Accommodation, or Johannesburg Self-catering Accommodation, is a poolside garden cottage in one of Johannesburg's safest and most desireable suburbs.
The cottage, for 2 persons sharing, opens onto an indigenous garden with pool
A poolside garden unit in upmarket Parktown North - one of Johannesburg's safest and most desireable suburbs.
The cottage, which caters for 2 persons sharing, opens out onto an attractive and tranquil indigenous garden with large pool. We can link it to a breakaway room to then accommodate 4 people.
Due to a severe drought and ensuing water restrictions, a plastic cover has been put on the pool.
You're welcome to swim, but the cover needs first to be removed and then replaced to prevent evaporation.
The sleeping area has a modern, custom made King-size bed (that can be seperated into twin beds), comfortable wingback lounging chairs, a work space/dining table with chairs as well as built-in cupboard space with an electronic safe, and a TV with a full satellite channel boquet.
The bathroom has a shower and heated towel
The kitchen includes a microwave, a large fridge and a 4-plate stove with oven and is equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils, as well as the basic everyday essentials, such as sugar, tea, and coffee.
The unit is serviced Monday to Saturday.
Parking is on-site and behind a remote controlled gate.
A laundry and ironing service is available at an additional cost.
Guests have their own private entrance to the Garden Cottage, with secure parking for one car as well as direct access to the indigenous garden and swimming pool.
Interaction with guests
My husband was nicknamed "Professor Johannesburg" by a previous guest, after sharing his vast knowledge of the city and surrounds with them.
He'll happily share this knowledge with new guests.
Other things to note
Parktown North is one of Johannesburg's safest suburbs, with a very pro-active precinct police station and a good security presence.
The swimming pool is unfenced!
No smoking permitted indoors.
No unauthorised guests.
No noisy parties and no loud music!

I've been in the short term hospitality business since 1994, and pride myself in having a good idea of what guest's needs are.
Established in April of 2004, Acorns on 8th has been a great success and constantly in demand.
I have the added advantage that my husband is passionate about Southern Africa and more than happy to share his knowledge with guests.
His whyjoburg website highlights his passion for the city!
