Your accommodations consist of a large, private, guest bedroom w/queen bed, couch, stuffed chairs, private deck, lots of books, a 60" 4K resolution TV & private bath. You're welcome to use the kitchen, rear patio and BBQ.
The home borders Forest Service land w/miles of hiking & biking trails. There are large trees all around the house. The Grand Canyon is a 50 minute drive away. You'll experience comfort, quality, relaxation. Many guests comment that their stay was the highlight of their trip.
This is an extremely large and well appointed room (24 x30ft) with a top quality queen-size mattress, down comforter and feather pillows. (A queen air mattress --w/sheepskin padding-- is prepared when a 3rd guest is present.) The room has a small private deck with great viewing of the Elk on summer evenings. You have a private bathroom (with a powerful Jacuzzi tub and mood-lighting), and there's a small make-up room for additional privacy within the guest bedroom. The room has lots of books, comfortable stuffed chairs, motorized reclining couch and 65 inch 4K resolution TV. There's even satellite programming and nearly 100 stored movies. Internet and Verizon's cell phone service is quite good (unless it's snowing!!).
The home is 20 miles west of Flagstaff, about 1.5 miles north of the Interstate-40 and borders the National Forest with marked hiking and mtn-bike trails directly behind my home. Additional trails for hiking or 4-wheeling are within 2 miles by car.
Visitors always comment about the room's comfort and sense of peacefulness they experience during their stay. When the weather's warm, many guests postpone their itinerary just to sip coffee on the deck and marvel at the birds, squirrels and (sometimes) the elk that walk through the yard. In the winter I keep the house quite warm with a wood stove. Great coffee and teas are available for your enjoyment anytime.
As a guest, you'll have full use of the home except for the basement and master bedroom. Your room is very private and sound proofed (I designed and built this house myself). You can cook, store food, use all the spices or olive oils, dishes, top-quality pans and outdoor gas grill as you wish (please place everything in the dishwasher and cleanup when done). The rear of the house has a 300sq' deck with a large umbrella, table and very comfortable chairs. There's a country store that sells breakfast and lunch via a 1-mile trail directly behind my home, or you can drive. Nice restaurants are 12 miles to Williams or 20 miles to Flagstaff by Interstate.
Please text me with your likely arrival time so I can plan my day and be here to greet you. If you'd like to arrive early I'll do my best to accommodate you.
Interaction with guests
I'll always try to be here to greet you and show you around when you first arrive. After that, you may not see me since I'm either not home or I tend to stay in my master bedroom's office. Essentially, you'll have full run of the house.
Other things to note
This is rural living at it's best with luxuries, conveniences, marked trails, wildlife and peacefulness. Beside proximity to the Grand Canyon, there are other National and State Parks within 40 minutes from my home that are quite impressive (Sunset Crater, Walnut Canyon). And many guests enjoy a day in Sedona (a truly remarkable area 50 minutes south of my home).
Enjoy yourself. If I can help you with questions, directions or special requests, I will. Check-in is at 2:00PM (though if you need to arrive earlier please message me and I'll try to accommodate you). Checkout-out is officially at noon. But, if the room is NOT booked on the day you leave, NP... you're welcome to stay longer. While smoking inside is not permitted, your room has a private deck and you can smoke there. Quiet hour begins at 9:00PM. Typically, no young children, since my home is not child-proofed. No pets... though I do make exceptions for small dogs (prior permission is required and you're asked to have recently bathed your pet and to provide a blanket for them to rest on). I typically have several Netflix movies available for your enjoyment and lots of great coffee (and teas).
Please note that your WIFI is limited 500mB/day usage (I use the Internet a lot and use less than 50mB/day). Verizon charges me $15per gigabyte in this rural area, so if you reach or exceed that, I must pass that cost to you. Please avoid this by NOT downloading movies and by turning-off your phone's background Apps: YouTube, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), NetFlix, news updates, social media and Maps, etc... those apps can easily consume 1gB of data per day. Email and lots of browsing is fine.
