The space

The apartment is a large studio. Guests often remark how spacious it is -- we've actually had yoga class in our living room.

The kitchen is also a nice size (for a city apt!), and is equipped for cooking, coffee brewing, smoothie making, and beyond. The bathroom is small, but has a full-size tub which we take advantage of all the time.

The main room is slightly separated from the bedroom, which has a comfortable double bed and closet space you can use. We also keep a futon mattress tucked under the bed for extra sleeping space.

We are on the 3rd floor (walk-up) and in the back of the building, so we have a beautiful view of trees and sky, and it’s much quieter than a front apartment.

Welcome home!

**This is a comfortable, clean, homey, old-school NYC apt. If you are looking for a super renovated condo-like apt, you should look elsewhere. Also, please keep in mind that we live here! (i.e., this in not a hotel room.) Thanks, and looking forward to hearing from you :)

well-behaved pets welcome on a case-by-case basis, please ask.

Guest access

Guests may use everything - kitchen supplies, massage table, keyboard, etc

From the hallway right outside our apt is access to the roof, which you MUST visit if you stay here. Our view of the neighborhood and beyond to Manhattan has shrunk over years of development, but it's still beautiful.

We do have a TV and movies (DVD and VHS, but no cable) and excellent WIFI.

Interaction with guests

We generally only interact in person when meeting you here upon your arrival if we are around. We are available for assistance and to answer any questions throughout your stay. We are happy to make recommendations in our neighborhood and beyond -- please ask!

The neighbourhood

This location in Williamsburg is ideal -- a few steps from the Lorimer stop (L and G trains), which takes you into Manhattan within minutes, and is only 4 stops to Union Square.

TONS of amazing restaurants and nightlife in the neighborhood. If you love food you will be very happy to try something new and delicious each night. 24hr grocery store w/ healthy and delicious options (we love their take-out sushi and salads!). Lots of fun places for live music and dancing right in our neighborhood, and of course a world of options are always a subway ride away. McCarren Park is very close, w/ track, playground, fields, etc, and great farmers market on Saturday. Wonderful selection of yoga studios in the area. Bedford Ave with street vendors selling art, jewelry, etc, 15 min walk/5 min bike. Citi-bike station across the street - which we highly recommend, because getting around becomes a fast and fun adventure! Nice walk/bike to the Williamsburg Bridge to Lower East Side (by bike, you can be in the Lower East Side/Chinatown in less than 20 minutes).

Our building is right off the BQE Metropolitan exit, and parking is the easiest we’ve ever experienced in NYC.

Getting around

Subway station on the corner (L and G trains, Lorimer stop), 15 minutes to Union Square. Also several buses to choose from.
BQE exit very close. Parking is easy.
Great biking neighborhood, citi-bike station across the street.

Hi! We both LOVE to travel, explore new places and cultures, and practice other languages. We love swimming, riding our bikes, doing yoga, making & enjoying music, dancing, gardening, camping, paddling, cooking, cross country skiing ...

Pete's a music therapist/rock star/astrologer/master smoothie maker, and Halle's a teacher/math ed consultant/artist.

We live and work part-time in NYC and part-time upstate in the beautiful Hudson Valley, which means our Brooklyn apartment is often available, ready for interesting people to fill it with good energy.

We LOVE our apartment and our neighborhood, and are thrilled to share it with others.
