With the Robin swaying admist the flowers in the garden on seeing you and the Himalayan Barbaret singing its welcome song for you on your arrival . Soak in the views from the Chalet with landscapes changing like a seasonal canvas along with local homemade Pahari (Himachali) cuisines ranging from Kukdi ki roti ( Makki ) , Tadkiya Bhat, Rajma Madra to Brunj (pahadi pudding).

"When a friend of mine posted some pics about this amazing place on her page, I fell in love with this place even before going there. Sitting on the beautiful private balcony of our room, with great view in front on me, was simply stunning. The full homestay is well maintained, with great respect of the natural environment. Arvind, is so caring and always present without being intrusive." The chalet is surrounded by lush green trees wild flowers and a large garden, a tree house and a green house where we grow organic vegetables for our guests. We generate our own solar electricity and also recycle the waste grey water of our homestay in order to conserve the Kasauli enviorenment. Sourcing food locally from the farmers is something we pride ourselves on. The food for our kitchen is largely bought from the surrounding villages and our menu is based on sustainability and seasonality.The food we serve is based on the fresh ingredients and healthy without compromising on flavour. We try to give a flavour of the food of Himachal and its distinct dishes. We strictly cook food in brass and cast iron vessels to prevent chemical reactions not compromising with health.
We are not a luxury hotel but the experience keeps changing on every visit of yours. Guests are to be respectful to our community members and house keeping staff at all times. We do not have a 24/7 reception but are always available for our guests

We relie on solar energy to meet our lighting and mobile charging requirements. Our Home stay compost its kitchen waste, recycles sewage water, and uses LED lights to reduce power consumption, among many eco-friendly measures.“The adoption of Western cooking practices and cookware increase the risk of health problems such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, malnutrition, and obesity. Aluminium toxicity and nutrient breakdown have become common problems in pressure cooking. It is important to shift to our traditional cooking practices, i.e., use of earthen cookware, clay pots and some selected metal utensils, e.g., copper, iron, and brass,” . It’s almost like reliving your childhood when pollution and chemicals were just words in the dictionary and the school laboratory. And the best part? It brings back memories of your grandmother’s cooking.

“I want to discourage guests from remaining confined in their rooms and glued to the television during their vacation. They should instead explore kasauli, take hikes amidst nature, and absorb it as much as they can. “You have these luxuries in the urban setup, but what difference is there if you do the same when you’re surrounded by nature?”
“The entire homestay is inspired by local pahari architecture and use double thick walls with no RCC roofs. The rock and mud walls were made entirely by locals of the village community, using interlocking bricks and least concrete.”
The rooms have been designed in a way that they are appropriately ventilated and exploit maximum natural light, hence reducing the burden on electricity during the day time. The mud walls, which helps in cooling, and in turn helps reduce the carbon footprint.

The cobbled pathways allow the rainwater to seep through them, which recharges the groundwater level.
Local trees and biodiversity gardens planted on the premises allow small fauna to survive.Kitchen waste and organic material is converted to use as compost.Rainwater harvesting system has been installed in all major areas of the property, and there is also a grey water recycling unit on the premises. The plantation of high trees around the rooms provides natural cooling.
The wastewater is treated using root zone technology. It is a natural method to treat sewage where plants purify the water using microbes.
Degradable and biodegradable waste segregation. The reason for such adherence come as the homestay is graced by the presence of a variety of birds, and other wildlife. “Even the howling of the Hyena and the growl of the leopard is never too far away,” Our motto is to imbibe values of sustainability and bring people close to nature. Humans must learn how to coexist with and respect the environment. This is my attempt to help them understand the same.”

Born and brought up in kasauli, a Sculptor ,music lover and longing for living in the hills made me settle here permanently. At the same time I strive to create environmental awareness amongst my guests.
I customize treks depending upon my guests stamina ranging from visit to a nearby stream (depending on the season) , toy train ride , or a trek through the forest. I myself am a mountain bike freak , enjoy frequent off roading.
