C’est La Vie Self Catering offers two 4 star cottages, 'Le Soleil' and 'La Mer', only one street away from the beach. Decor was inspired by Provence Country and Mediterranean styles.
Each cottage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps a total of 6 people.
The top floor offers one double bedroom, two twin rooms, a bathroom with bath and shower, and a WC. The double bedroom and one of the twin rooms have sea views and open onto the upper sun deck. The sun deck has removable cushions for your comfort. This makes it an ideal place for reading, dolphin spotting and watching the famous West Coast sunsets.
The ground floor has an open living and dining area that opens onto the patio with built-inn BBQ. From here you can enjoy yourself whilst keeping an eye on the children playing in the safe and secure shared garden.

The kitchen is fully equipped including an electric stove/oven, fridge-freezer and microwave. The dining table seats six and a highchair is available, on request, for your little one. There is a conveniently situated downstairs shower room and WC.
An outdoor shower and wash basin is ideal for washing wetsuits or cleaning the day’s catch. Here you will also find a washing line to dry your clothes and wet towels.
At C’est La Vie you will receive so much more than you may expect from a self-catering accommodation. We include use of following little luxuries to ensure you feel right at home from the minute you walk in:

Interaction with guests
Upon arrival you will be met by Waldi, the property care taker. She is famous with our regulars and known for her beautiful smile and excellent service.
Waldi is local to Velddrif and been working with the us since 2008.
Waldi will give you an introductory tour and show you around your cottage, explain the in's and out's, and address any questions you might have.

You are 2 minutes away from endless stretches of beach.
The enclosed bay is often visited by schools of dolphins, and the sea water temperature is considerably warmer than surrounding areas. Perfect for lazing in the sun, hours of walking, body boarding, canoeing and swimming.
A quick 2 minutes drive to the local shop for almost all necessaries including food and alcoholic beverages.
The Western Cape region:
Just 140 km north of Cape Town, on the duney, windswept seashore lies the lovely seaside hamlet of Kersbosstrand. A natural reef forms a barrier in the ocean creating calm waters perfect for holidaying with family.
The spectacular Buffelsfontein Game and Nature Reserve is a private game reserve situated on the R27 towards Verlddrif, in the heart of the West Coast. This area is a malaria free zone and a wonderful introduction to a real wild life safari game reserve.
Game you can expect to see on a drive:Lion, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Kudu,Eland, Oryx (Gemsbok), Bontebok, Springbok, Duiker, Steenbok and Caracal.
Game seen less often on a drive: African Wildcat, Bat-eared fox, Cape fox, Genet, Grey buck, Mountain Reedbuck, Porcupine, Aardvark, Aardwolf and Honey Badger.
A quick 20 minute drive in either direction you will find the luxurious Club Mykonos offering a casino and sunset cruises, Langebaan a haven for adventure sports such as Kite Surfing, Wind Surfing and Kayaking, Vredenburg perfect for shopaholics, Elandsbay world renowned for surfing and wind-sailing and Velddrif: famous for its South African delicacy “bokkoms” (dried fish delicacy) is the nearest town only 10 minutes drive away.
Verlddrif also offers a doctor’s surgery, pharmacy, supermarket, various restaurants, a butcher’s, bakery, filling station, video store, post office, coffee shop and the Bergrivier Golf Club.Rocherpan Nature Reserve near Velddrif is renowned for its wonderful bird life and its best-kept secret as an ideal whale watching spot.
The most spectacular annual spring flower display can be seen during the months from August through till October. The nearest hospital is situated in Vredenburg 30 minutes drive away.

Kersbosstrand, the perfect getaway for anyone wanting to relax. Whether you want to read a book on the beach or take advantage of the many activities like bird watching, cycling, fishing, spear fishing, scuba-diving, mountain biking, sailing, surfing, swimming, walking, wind-surfing, kite surfing, 4×4 trails, quad bike tracks, wine routes or crayfish diving, C’est La Vie is just for you. The luxurious Port Owen Marina is a popular holiday and weekend resort for the discerning. Regular boat trips are taken up the river to view birds, e.g. flamingoes and pelicans.
This is one of the best birding experiences on the West Coast. The annual Berg River Canoe Marathon ends at Velddrif, and ocean going yachts have found this a safe basin to moor in. The area also offers good fishing, for both boat and rock or surf anglers.
The lovely Club Mykonos is also a quick 30 min drive away!
Early mornings dolphins can be seen to play in the surf.
Velddrif and Laaiplek restaurants, which are on the Crayfish Route, have a choice of seafood delicacies and traditional country fare, served with characteristic West Coast hospitality.
Each cottage has off street parking. Your own transport is a must, so hire a car from the airport if need be. It's a very easy and scenic 90 min drive from Cape Town Airport.

Our AirBnB rate for low season is R1510 per night (min 2 nights) and high season R2070 per night (3 night min Easter weekend, 7 nights min from 15 Des to 15 Jan). On top of that we require a R1199 refundable breakages deposit.
Generally check-in is 2pm and check-out 11am, but we are very lenient in most circumstances so please feel free to enquire about this.
From 21 to 28 days, guests forfeit 25% of the deposit.
From 14 to 21 days forfeit is 50% of deposit.
From 7 to 14 days forfeit is 75% of deposit.
Less than 7 days forfeit the full deposit.

To ensure everyone has a pleasant experience please note the following:
•These are non-smoking cottages so if you would like to smoke please feel free to do so outside the cottage.
•The lovely hand-made, wooden furniture can be damaged by water. Please use the washing lines that are provided for hanging of towels, washing and swimsuits and do not hang them over balconies or furniture.
•Please place any suitcases, boxes, cooler bags and cooler boxes on the floor or store them under the beds, not on furniture.
•For all tackling gear & cleaning and gutting the catch of the day, please use the outdoor sinks provided.
•Outdoor showers are perfect for rinsing wetsuits, or just cooling off after a long, hot day.
•When using household goods, furniture and appliances please do so with respect. When using heavy iron pots please use the appropriate protection on the kitchen counters and never place on the washbasin. Please rather use the outside sinks for cleaning.
•The interior furniture, cushions, bedding and soft coverings are not for outdoor use.
•When colouring your hair, please use your own towel. Any discoloured towels will need to be replaced and the cost deducted from the breakages and security key fee.
•Use doorstoppers in windy conditions to prevent breakages of glass doors.
•We understand that a lot of our guests are cyclists with expensive bicycles. We will gladly and safely store them in our lock up garage, so please do not leave them out on the balconies, inside the cottages or by the braai area.
•The cottage is situated in a wonderfully, peaceful location. Please be aware of noise levels.
•Being animal lovers ourselves, we understand people would like to bring their pets on holiday with them. However, due to health and safety issues, we will not be able to accommodate any pets.
•The braai/BBQ area is perfectly designed for braais/BBQ’s and no other area is to be used for this purpose.
I'm a passionate, vibrant and energetic mother of 3 and grandmother of one. C'est La Vie Self Catering is a long standing dream of my husband and I that became real.
We have many regular visitors and many book a year ahead for the Christmas holidays. We are known for our care and attention to detail, those little extra's you don't expect at a self-catering, such as daily cleaning and fire wood.
For our family C'est la Vie is a place where beautiful memories are created. My daughters Natasja & Nadya help out with the admin & bookings.
