I loved the loving, friendly welcome i got from Cathie and John, their relaxing way of being there for you, but letting you have space and time to enjoy all of nature too. I loved the way they love animals and share everything with us! Loved the lamb, dogs, cats, cows, chickens, wildlife! The creek, the strange rock layers inthe creekbed. I definitely didnt get to stay long enough!!

Thank you Lola. We really enjoyed your visit too. The kittens will be out as soon as they are no longer wild. Sure wish you could have taken one home with you. Hope to see you again soon.

I stayed at Cathie's with my two year old son. She made us both feel welcome and there was plenty of stuff for an active kiddo to do. The meals were good and the animals were friendly. It is a farm, like Cathie says, so expect some dust and dirt. It's good for us! Thanks for making our stay so much fun.

Jenn and I had a good experience at the Willow Creek Ranch. Cathie was very warm and accommodating, and it was very easy to feel at home. The Instant Book was extremely convenient and helped us get away for a holiday weekend. Although we didn't make use of the farm-stay aspects of the location, breakfast was very tasty, and it was great meeting the families that were staying on the farm.

Every place has its ups and downs. In the interest of honesty, I'll list both. Ups: Cathie gave us a big hug when we arrived, a wonderful warm welcome. We enjoyed her home cooking and appreciated the opportunity to eat home-made butter and cherry preserves around a big farm table. Cathie made delicious biscuits and even snuck vegetables into the spaghetti sauce so we could trick my friend's toddler into eating healthier food. Very kind! The many cats and dogs were cuddly and friendly. The farm provided many learning opportunities for the toddler. He saw inside his first chicken coop and learned where eggs come from. He got to see pigs, cows, and sheep, all of which was eye-opening for a city kid. The farm is conveniently located near the California Caverns, which is a great day trip guaranteed to rock a toddler's world. Downs: We did not find the home to adhere to reasonable standards of cleanliness. We expected the manure associated with a working farm, but we were not prepared for the large and numerous dog feces covering the yard, porch, and entryway. The mattresses in the tent smelled strongly of mildew and the bathroom smelled strongly of cat urine. I am not overly fussy about cleanliness, but this home does need to be cleaned more thoroughly before receiving guests. There were some safety concerns for my friend's toddler, as rusted blades and broken appliances were abandoned around the property. We did not get much sleep, as several loud disturbances woke us throughout the night: post-midnight dishwashing, a large collection of clocks chiming every hour, and an iRobot gone rogue that whirred and banged against the wall until I got up to turn it off at 1:30 am. Cathie also spent far too much time complaining about previous airbnb guests, which made us uncomfortable. Most of her complaints were about guests who voiced the concern that her home was not sufficiently clean. We shared those concerns but did not feel comfortable saying so, given Cathie's lengthy complaints about these guests. We very much liked Cathie as a person, but we would not recommend staying at her home until she can get some support to clean it.
