The space

The beds are super duty, queen sized, off-ground airbeds, large and comfortable according to our guests. The unit is simple, made for sleeping and using the bathroom and bedrooms, not ideal for lounging or cooking. It's all about location and cheap pricing. The unit is being prepared for complete vacancy on the 31st of August, so there is little furniture or extras, but you will find yourself in the heart of a beautiful city with plenty at your doorstep.

Other things to note

Please send a message at least 24 hours prior to check-in to notify us of your expected check-in time. You will likely be met by one of our property managers, so we ask that you specify the time you would like to check in and be prompt on arrival. If you are more than an hour late for your check-in time, we may be assessed a $20 fee for our property manager to come back and would need to pass this on to our guest. We manage several check-ins per day at all of our rental locations and our managers can not stay at one location more than 30 minutes to await late arrivals. Check-ins are normally scheduled between 3-6pm for a specific time (30-minute window). Please do your best to communicate with us and we will work hard to help avoid fees, but occasionally we must enforce the fees when we are charged ourselves my our management crew. Early check-ins are available as soon as 12 pm, or late check-in from 6pm-10pm. Early or late check-ins will be charged a $20 fee to coordinate with property management (standard $50 fee if after 10 pm). Late check outs can be accommodated for a $20 fee for a checkout as late as 1 pm. Please arrange for early or late check-in/checkout prior to confirming your reservation. Requesting late checkouts during your stay would result in a $40, which is the fee we incur to reschedule out cleaning crew and must pass along to Airbnb or our guest directly. Our goal is to avoid fees unless they help accommodate a special request. We must enforce our standards and be consistent to retain quality and reliable management. Lockouts requiring property management to respond are also a $20 fee. This service is not guaranteed so please be conscientious to keep your key with you at all times.

I waited over a week to post this review because it is the worst review I have ever done. I am an AirBnb host and I know how damaging a negative review can be. So I will begin with the good things: The apartment is indeed in a wonderful location in a wonderful little neighborhood with great access to public transportation, restaurants, shops, etc. The apartment is large and spacious. The air beds turned out to be comfortable enough, but not ideal. There were enough towels and the linens were clean if a little worn. Now to the not so good things: The building has been "self-condemned" by the owners -- they have decided to completely renovate the building. To do so it must be empty of tenants. That is not easy in a place like Boston; the people are litigious and the city is eager to attack landlords. I suspect it takes quite a long time to get the last holdout tenant to leave. Clever Idea: rent out the apartments that are vacant on AirBnb so that they don't stay empty for months if not years while waiting for the last tenant to go. I have no problem with this. The problem is the failure to make needed repairs. Instead of fixing the central air conditioning they install a small inadequate window unit in one of the 3 main rooms using tape and cardboard. Instead of fixing the defective entry lock or keys (a big problem since if the key is jammed in the entry lock you then have no key to enter the apartment) they jam to door open with a wood block and then duct tape it when that doesn't work. I was locked out twice. The manager told me they would get a locksmith the first time, but didn't. The second time an "engineer" came and duct taped the door lock open. The kitchen had no glasses, plates, pots, utensils of any kind. The lighting fixtures were broken and light bulbs were not replaced. No internet, TV, etc. I could go on. Tape and cardboard is the method of repair for everything. I understand the reluctance to invest money into a place that is going to be destroyed, but if you rent an apartment out for $150.00 a day you should be willing to provide some basic amenities and repair basic items. And do so safely and professionally.

Great location! Walking distance to many restaurants, bars, shops, etc... The place was comfortable and parking was easy to find. Jim was super helpful and accommodating. I had a great experience!

Minimal. Uncomfortable hard air beds. No extra blankets/ pillows/towels (1 bath towel for each of 2 ; 1 hand towel and no wash cloth) Zero in kitchen- no plates cups silverware coffee maker toaster condiments etc no coach tv music. Bare.
