Description

On five acres in the mountains, cottage in the woods, very private and cozy. Close to town, seven miles from Bass Lake and close to the southern gate of Yosemite National Park, gateway to Yosemite. A nice place to relax and get away.

Relaxing space to get rested before traveling to Yosemite or high country hikes or just driving to see the sights that the Sierra's have to offer. Lakes and Rivers close by for boating, swimming, fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, snow activities, skiing or what ever you love to do.

You will have two private bedrooms (one room with a full-size bed and one room with a twin-size bed), full bathroom, a full kitchen and dining area , living room, and the land. We have a sofa bed in the living room if needed.

If you need help during your stay, I will be available to you for information and also for your comforts. I would really appreciate my guests writing a review for me, this really helps future guests and I will do the same for my guest after you check out. Thank you.

There are neighbors but you can not see them, all the homes are on large lots of land. The town is 1.5 miles away if you need to go out to eat or buy supplies and groceries. Bass Lake is beautiful and takes about ten minutes to drive to.

There is room for parking at the home, there is a bus that stops iNorth Fork to Fresno, Bass Lake and Oakhurst. Oakhurst is twenty miles away. You can also rent cars in Oakhurst.

You will need to bring your own food and supplies. Also, it is wise to bring a flash light since we live in the mountains on private land there are no street lights on the property, I will have outside lights on for you if you arrive at night, just a safety precaution.

Please plan to arrive before 9:00pm. If something happens and you need to check-in after 9:00pm please contact me and we will arrange a special check-in.

Sue's cottage was in a very beautiful spot, was very comfortable, and was fully stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. The cottage is right beside Sue's house but she made our stay a very private experience. A short walk took us to a beautiful river view and another short walk up the gravel road allowed us to stretch our legs. The cottage is about 45 minutes from the Southern entrance to Yosemite. We enjoyed the wood-burning stove (Sue kept us stocked with all the wood and kindling we needed!), Sue's VHS collection, and the hummingbirds gathering around the feeder right outside the door. As others have mentioned, Sue also gave us delicious homemade banana bread. It was a very comfortable stay in a beautiful, quiet location.

have no complaints about this place! Sue was a wonderful host, she kept in touch with us and gave a good rundown of the place as soon as we got there. She was always looking out for us, she helped us with the fireplace and kept checking in with us to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. The cottage is very clean and comfortable for all 4 of us to stay in. Sue even provided us with a few little goodies like coffee, fruits, and delicious homemade banana bread! will definitely want to stay there again in the future!

We spent a great week in Sue's cottage. We were staying with our 1 year old baby, and Sue has been extremely helpful. She is probably the kindest host you could have. About the location, it is very close to the center of North Fork where you can get most of what you need, and there is a lot of great hikes where you can go in less than one hour drive. Staying at Sue's has been a great experience.

Aside from the perfect escape that is Sue's cottage, Sue herself made our stay quite memorable. I arranged this trip for my girlfriend's birthday and to say she was estatic is an understatement. Sue made us both feel right at home with a plate full of brownies and her hospitable charm. She is truly such a kind and warm soul. The cottage is nestled on a back road and was exactly the "off the grid" type feel we were seeking coming from the city. Thank you Sue, we will be back!

Really enjoyed Sue's cottage. Between booking and arriving there had been some wash outs on the road to the cottage so Sue met me at the market to help guide me there. She had the fire roaring for my arrival and made sure I was comfortable driving out for check out. Thanks!

I am a retired teacher, I have lived in the mountains and raised my children here for the past 40 years. I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, swimming. I will be happy to help you find great places to experience in the mountain area. I have a wonderful home and nice place to share, peaceful. You have two private rooms, living room, one bathroom and the kitchen while you stay.
