:( The most unpleasant airbnb I stayed in! Where should I start: the neighbourhood is not appealing, as you approach the building you can start to smell piss. It is right next to a bus stop (not a nice one) with lots of strange looking people. The building is a project like building. Tall building with 15 floors and stair cases outside. Please include the picture of this building and the entrance to the hall so not to mislead people. The apartment inside is nice and modern, but still doesn't have air conditioning and super noisy. The building is so narrow that windows come out on both sides of the street. Both sides have bus stops. one side has 7! bus stops - right under the bedroom, being on 4 floor, you can hear every bus! On sundays woken up by cleaning machines cleaning these 7 bus stops for an hour. Could not sleep as you have to chose between the noise and air (open window) or slightly less noise and no air (closed window). I appreciate the location is strategic (next to old port), but I would not recommend to stay in this building, its not a pleasant experience. I felt misled and almost cancelled this, but stayed to avoid the hustle and wasting my precious vacation time.

It was wonderful. I sadly wasn't able to make it myself but my friend took the reservation for me and said the place was great.

We walked to Leila's apartment from the station as it was so close. It was in a perfect position, only about 2 minutes walk from the harbour and right in the centre of Marseille. The apartment was well appointed, bright and clean. We felt very relaxed while there. Everything was explained to us on arrival so we had no worries about where things were etc. Galleries Lafayette was just across the road and has a brilliant choice of food to go or the cafe or restaurant area. The morning croissants were a treat. Marseille itself a great city with so much to do. Museums, art galleries , cathedrals and an art trail in a lovely fishing village a bus ride away. The integrated transport system of bus, tram and underground were a great way to get around with a day ticket for only a few euros which included all three. Travelling Eurostar from London all the way was also a bonus without the hassle of flying. We are already thinking of a return trip sometime. Highly recommended. Thanks, Leila

Merci!
