About this listing
Two BR and 2.5 bath in condo complex, (literally) steps from Cal Ave CalTrain, restaurants, and shops. 15-20 min walk to Stanford campus (bikeshare nearby). Full sized air mattress and bedding available for additional guests.
Well-lit condo in gated complex. The condo (particularly the kitchen and the guest bedroom) looks out on the CalAve Caltrain station for easy travel to San Francisco and around the south bay. The bedrooms both have attached bathrooms.
Full size air mattress and extra bedding available for extra guests.
When you're not staying here, we are, so expect personal belongings around the house (e.g., clothes in the closet, mail, food in the fridge).
Guests can access the entire condo, including use of the in-unit washer and dryer, kitchen and dishwasher, elliptical in the living room, television (Netflix and Chromecast available, but limited cable access), etc.
Interaction with guests
We will be available via e-mail and text, although if the unit is listed, it means we are likely out of town, and therefore may be slower to respond.
This location has everything you need! We are right next to a grocery store, yoga studio, tons of amazing restaurants (takeout falafel from Mediterranean Wraps, Michelin star restaurant Baumé, and our favorite hole-in-the-wall, Homma's Brown Rice Sushi), and even a couple bars (Antonio's Nut House for a dive bar, recently opened Calave wine bar, Bodeguita Del Medio for both amazing cuban food and drinks).
Right next to Caltrain, which will take you anywhere from San Jose to San Francisco; you can switch to BART at Millbrae if you need to go to the East Bay (Berkeley, Oakland).
You can either walk to Stanford (15-30 min depending your destination on campus) or take the free Shuttle from El Camino (5 minute walk), which runs at limited hours during the day.
There is street parking outside the complex if you are driving.
There are also bike shares very close by (Palo Alto Rent-My-Bike, Bay Area Bike Share), if you would like to bike around town.
Other things to note
Windows keep out most of the train noise, but bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
1. Shoes off while in the condo, please!
2. Condo complex has strict quiet hours starting at 10 PM, so no parties or loud gatherings! We recommend closing the windows after 10--neighbors have complained before.
3. No pets, smoking, illegal drugs, excessive drinking, etc.
4. Leave used sheets and towels in the washer when you leave!
Cancel up to 24 hours before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.
I'm a PhD student at Stanford's Graduate School of Business looking at culture and categories. Every once in a while I like to get on a bike. On occasion, I'll dabble in home pickling and deep frying.
