Description

The space

The house contains a fully equiped open kitchen and furnished living room area with many a view on the Beynac castle and its church. The living area has direct access onto the terrace and swimming pool, (12mx5m, chlorine system) where you can sit down, relax and enjoy the Dordogne’s picturesque view.

The ground floor also contains a toilet and an en-suite bedroom with shower and a scullery which both have direct access onto the terrace and swimming pool area.

The first floor composes of a study area with library, three bedrooms with windows overlooking the swimming pool and one common bathroom with both a shower a bath and a 3rd toilet. Furthermore the most important aspect of the house is the open plan living room with log burner.

The house was build to replicate the barns that they use in the Dordogne to dry out the tobacco the local farmers grow. The house is surrounded by a 5000m² garden where you will find many walnut trees and a small fenced off meadow in which live two Shetland ponies.

Where to start, this region of France is stunningly beautiful. The house is centrally located near so many wonderful villages and activities. The home was lovely with a big, beautiful yard, inviting pool and everything you need to make a comfortable stay, including a well-stocked wine rack, which was full of delicious wine at a very reasonable price. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean and the check-in/check-out process very easy. Plus there are two very sweet little ponies on the property which added a nice dimension for our kids. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back to the area and this home!

Roelien's house is beautiful - a fantastic base from which to explore the Dordogne! We loved our daily walk along the river each morning to the boulangerie in Beynac and the views of Beynac are breathtaking!

We have just had a fantastic family holiday with out 4 month old baby at this beautiful house in a stunning part of France. The place is as described in the listing, and the photos are accurate. The house is in a super location for exploring the Dordogne countryside, with many places to visit, such as the Chateau at Beynac and Castlenaud, the gardens at Marqueyssac and Sarlat to name a few. There is easy access to the river for canoeing, and the village of Beynac is within walking distance, and has some lovely restaurants. Roelian was a great host - very helpful, and answering our emails and questions very quickly. We hope to come back to visit again in the future as it was a fantastic place to stay.
