House Rules

- We are new to this and are figuring it out. I dont have a lot of rules and just appreciate reasonable behavior. I think the place is suitable for children and infants, but we should discuss before you book. Also, I have 2 dogs and do not want others. I am open to guests doing a load or two of laundry; it's not in the cabin, but is only across driveway.

Kate's place is a great place for those wishing to explore Asheville, but still have a private retreat. It's quiet and cozy with a great view of the scenic property. It's far enough out of town that you can enjoy time in a natural, peaceful setting, but conveniently located near the heart of downtown and the expressway. I enjoyed my time there, and the cottage was a relaxing oasis between trips to Asheville and the surrounding areas.

We had a great visit in the cottage. It was quiet and peaceful. Easy Uber ride to downtown.

We loved our time at the cabin. It was the perfect size for two of us and waking up to a view of the trees was wonderful! One thing to note is the bathroom is very small and the entrance to the shower has a very low ceiling which might be an issue for you if you are tall (I hit my head twice, but am known to be clumsy:). Kate was very helpful with directions and check-in. The cabin is very private and peaceful while still being very close to downtown. Would highly recommend!

This place is so cozy! It’s also minutes away from downtown Asheville so it’s super convenient. The bed is very comfortable and sits right next to a huge picture window overlooking the rolling hills and trees! Very relaxing. I hope to return in the winter so I can enjoy the fireplace!! Book it..you’ll love it!

Everything I needed at the end of a long day of travel: plenty of hot water, a few simple food items, a beautiful, clean space with loads of natural light & fresh air and a bed more comfortable than my own! Kathy greeted me with a hug & a smile upon my arrival and made sure that I had what I needed for a restful stay. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing stay. Kate was there to welcome us along with her son who left chocolates on our pillow. We stayed in the small guesthouse which was absolutely adorable. It was very clean and had a homey feel. We loved the big window next to the bed which had an amazing view of trees and plants. It made us feel secluded from the world which is exactly what we needed. We were maybe 4 miles from downtown Asheville which was great and only an $8 Uber ride. We never felt unwelcome and Kate let us do our own thing and didn't hover. I will definitely be back to stay here. If you are visiting Asheville this is a place worth staying. I will offer that the driveway is (URL HIDDEN) goes up and has a turn that has a brick wall. My SUV was fine but if you have a truck or something bigger just be cautious of that. Other than that enjoy your stay and Kate!

I'm a long time local - almost 40 years! and love being able to help people appreciate all that we have to offer! I love to be outdoors and love our downtown and the arts, my husband can be your "go to" for all brewery questions!
