The space

2 short blocks walk to the beach and the amazing oceanfront bike path. Right in Kapa'a town but a world away. Decorated with custom design features and details to give you a feel of old Hawaii. Restaurants & stores within easy walking distance.

The Space

Whether you are visiting Kauai for a few days, a few weeks, or even a few months, this cozy plantation-style 1BR apartment surrounded by tropical vegetation and whimsical statues and art objects is a hidden right in Kapa'a but surrounded by open space. It’s part of a small and friendly residential community full of Aloha spirit. You can arrive, move in, unpack and unwind -- or head straight to the beach.

The price includes Hawaii State's so-called transient accommodation tax of 13.4% -- most hotels and condos charge that on top of the quoted rate. And there are no "extras" you have to pay -- no “amenity fees,” no resort fees, no fees for the wi-fi (it's free), no “energy” fees, no parking fees – no kidding.

The apartment is ideal for two people. It’s compact but cute and comfortable - fully furnished and equipped, and artistically decorated with granite counter top, etched glass mirrors, indirect lighting, and marble floor inserts that will remind you of Italy.

The kitchen, living room/dining area are open-plan with plantation shutters on the windows, a ceiling fan and (if you need it) an air conditioner. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, full-size refrigerator, gas stove, blender, coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking equipment.

The bedroom has a double chest bed (with space-saving storage drawers underneath), a ceiling fan, and a closet with hangers. The en suite bathroom has a stall shower and art tile on the floor.

The Immediate Neighborhood:

The apartment community has a unique ambiance. There’s an outdoor table and stone seats near the entrance among the trees where you can relax and drink coffee, or sit and chat with other residents. There’s a gazebo, barbecue facility, and open space for parking in the field adjacent to the property.

Several coin-op washers and dryers are on site.

As you may know, the entire island of Kauai has an abundance of roosters and chickens, and they love hanging around near the property. (The chickens and roosters tend to crow at odd hours during the night. Some people sleep right through it, others say they get used to it after 1-2 nights. We can't do anything about the roosters' body clocks, but we do provide our guests with sanitized packs of earplugs.

Interaction with Guests

We can arrange to pick you up at the airport, suggest economical car rental, and even rent you a kayak at a nominal cost to cruise the Wailua river!

We respect your privacy on your vacation, and we won't disturb you once you are settled in - but our managers are available (as I am) by e-mail, text or phone if you have questions.

I couldn't have asked for a better stay or a more perfect location. It was a very peaceful area and it was just what my husband and I were looking for. There are roasters, but there are roasters everywhere on the island. I personally didn't mind the roasters. Everything was clean and well kept. And they provide literally everything you need for your stay. Would love to stay here again when I come back to Kauai.

I cannot recommend this place enough! The apartement is exactly as shown in the pictures. The location is also great you can easily get to the north or south side of the island. We loved the bikes they provided. The bike path near the property is just stunning, perfect for exploring and it leads to a beautiful secluded beach! We didn't get to meet Margaret because she wasn't on Kauai during our stay but Ida (who lives on the property) checked us in and she is just lovely. Margaret provides a guidebook for her guests which is great and Ida also gave us some amazing tips. They really make a big effort so that their guests feel welcome and at home. We loved our stay and I wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed 9 nights in our apartment and had a great time! I have been to the island many times but it was my husbands first time and this was a great landing spot for us. it was great being able to rent the kayak up the Wailua river and use the free bikes to explore the town. Ida was very responsive and a great host. The apartment was clean and they provided coffee and fresh fruit upon our arrival. Very comfortable bed and soft sheets! We didn't use the grill but did enjoy the gazebo there in the evenings. I noticed in a few reviews some people complained about being woken up by roosters, but you get that anywhere (from a resort to a beach house to here!) and if you have the right frame of mind you can embrace that, and you won't get a better location and spot for a better price. Can't wait until our next trip there!!

I stayed here for a week and had the most amazing experience! Location - It's central to any which direction and very close to highway. Restaurants - Tiki Tacos was out of the world! Try the Kahlua Pork, Chicken tacos and or anything here really...get it with Guac! Tacos were home-made and is just a gem. In the same plaza is JO2 - upscale and scrumptious restaurant. Check out Baracuda which is about 25mins drive in Hanalei. Apartment- Clean, cosy, quiet, and plentifully stocked. There was a welcome bag of fruits (bananas, pineapple, and delicious papaya). Hosts - I didn't meet Margaret, but the property manager Ida and her husband are the most warm and gracious people I've met! Super sweet, accommodating and genuine. I'll definitely stay here again!

There is no place on earth quite like Kauai for natural beauty, outdoor activities, and the relaxed tropical island way of life (the Aloha spirit). My husband Jack and I enjoy the eastside bike path where you can cycle, walk, or jog traffic-free for 4+ miles (8 miles round-trip), and taking the dog for a walk by the ocean. We love travel, but we love staying home too. Since Airbnb came into existence, it’s possible to do both at the same time. We offer you a fully furnished tropical Hawaiian-style apartment as your “home from home” during your vacation, in a friendly community – right in town yet away from it all – close to beaches and attractions but with local ambiance.
