I have built a beautiful country home perched on a hill overlooking a breathtaking view of the Ottawa River. The pictures truely do not do it justice. This place really is magical. I can guarantee that the waterfront view you wake up to will never look exactly the same. The weather systems that stream down the Ottawa River make for a spectacular scenery. The interior of the luxury chalet is glistening with marble floors, lit with high effecient LED lighting, 25 ft great-room ceilings, open and spacious with a modern-rustic warm feel, boasts 2 large bathrooms each with walk-in steam showers and 2 large bedrooms, both as en suits. The cooking and dining area is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows boasting one of Ontario's most incredible views of the historical and prestegious Ottawa River. Not too big, not too small - the right size for a couple, small family, artist, musician, writer, student, adventurer, Ontario trvaller, cross country skier and snowmobiler. Equipped with in-floor heating, high-pressure shower heads, state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances and an outdoor BBQ, this chalet is perfect in size. The house has 3000 feet of waterfront access with multiple docks for swimming and enjoyment. If you dont have a canoe, you can use one of mine. I also have a boat launch if you want to bring your own boat.
Deux Rivieres is a very special spot nestled along the upper Ottawa River. The scenery on the water of the Laurentian hills is breathtaking. The river is home to many waterfalls which include some great swimming holes. You can access Mattawa by boat and grab a bite at a local resturant or head the other way and discover off-shoot rivers and waterfalls, cliffs and forests on the waters edge. . The golf course is about 10 min down the road.
This is a special place for creative people, families, couples, and likeminded friends.
LOOK OUT SPOT. Up the hill, there is a trail, just past the 2 tipi's, that will take you to a beautiful look out spot. It is a great view of the river. Highly recommend you check it out.
WATERFRONT; Down by the old train tracks, you will find a road leading down to the waterfront. The whole area (from the big tipi over to the boat launch) is yours to enjoy. You will find several docks and a few small boats down there.
THE OTTAWA RIVER: Their are so many special spots along the river, few of which I would tell many people about. You just have to explore for yourself. You'll be sure to stumble upon at least a few epic waterfalls. Just look for the drops in the landscape. Cliff jumping is abundant or for climbers, look out for some serious tree/rock climbing to be had on the steeps dropping off the Quebec side.
TOWN OF BRENT AND BRENT METEORITE CRATER; Up the Brent bush road, you will find an ancient meteor site called the “Brent Crater”. This is a place where thousands of years ago a massive meteorite hit the earth (albeit not as big as the one that wiped out the dinosaurs). There is both a look out spot for those wanting a short thrill, or a few hiking trails for those who want to see more. Just past the Meteorite site is the small town of BRENT which is one of the few remaining towns located inside the Park. Here you will find a general store and a unique 'old school' vibe. The colours coming off the trees are indescribable during the fall season. You have never seen anything like it. I have pictures.
Interaction with guests
I interact with my guests as often as the need arises. I may or may not be at the property, depending on my work schedule.
I ask that you leave the place in the same condition as when you arrived.
I am originally from King City which is about an hour outside of Toronto. I grew up in a large family with 5 sisters and 2 brothers. At university I studied comparative religions and since graduating I have been working in forestry - reforestation where I oversee several tree planting and forestry maintenance camps. Most of my time is now spent in the Ottawa Valley where I live.
