I went with my girlfriend to this place due to a mix of location, homeliness, and price.
Huw & Jade were always curteous - from the beginning, when we were the first to enquire and they gave us priority, to our last day when they let us stay past check out time due to missing a flight.
Huw & Jade were fast to reply - could reach them at any time, it seemed (through Airbnb's mail system), even though they were on holiday. They made a good effort to take care of us and we felt we could always reach them.
The place itself: very clean and modern, yet cosy. Excellent view (20th floor), comfortable furniture, good cooking facilities (2 electric hobs, fridge) for Hong Kong. Shower has great control of temperature and pressure. Place feels very secure (and is secure - only people living on a given floor can access that floor). Exactly as pictured.
Instructions: Clear instructions were given on how to reach the apartment's area: Airport express to HK central (£10 per person / £8 for two), then take a cab to the apartment (£3 for two people).
However, we didn't know the name of the apartment building, just its number - being given the name of the apartment, "J Residence", would have saved us a few minutes (we may have just missed the buildings number though).
Residence staff: were very friendly, and several spoke good English. They looked after two large suitcases for an hour after checkout, whilst we went for a meal. The lifeguard on the Rooftop pool (completely empty - weekday, afternoon slot) even took a few snaps for us!
Location: a few minutes walk (East) to Wan Chai metro and an extensive vegan Loving Hut restaurant, and there's a very pleasant/quiet walk (West) to Central metro.
HK Metro: system is clear and easy to follow - plus, maps are everywhere so you can travel with ease. You don't have to worry about complexity.
Our own tips for HK:
- 5 day SIM card with 1.5GB of data can be bought for about £8, and is extremely helpful. Can be bought from many stores, e.g. 7-Eleven.
- Beware of crowds in popular areas (festive seasons + popular locations especially)! Our most pleasant walk was strolling over to the Central metro and learning how to be a pedestrian in HK.
