Megalong Lookout Cottage is a mountain home located in the Blue Mountains, known for its World Heritage-listed national parks and wilderness dominated by temperate eucalypt forests. The cottage offers breathtaking views of the Megalong Valley, escarpment, and sunsets from a private acre of land.
We invite you to come and experience the magic of this mountain home, where you can unwind or invigorate, escape or explore, discover the great outdoors, or rediscover yourself within.

The space
The property has undergone a brand new renovation inside and out. The interior was designed by a prominent designer with style and comfort in mind. The kitchen is equipped with Smeg appliances, including a Bean to Cup espresso machine with matching milk frother, and 50's styled kettle, toaster, and refrigerator. There is a 65-inch ultra-high definition television with Netflix. The deck features a Weber gas BBQ with high chairs, and is the perfect spot to watch the sunset. A Sonos (Wi-Fi connected) sound system is available for you to control via an easily installed app on your phone.

The property has three bedrooms, each of which is equipped with wardrobes. The master bedroom is also provided with a desk and monitor, making it suitable for working from home.

We know the mountains can be cold in winter, so we recently added an additional brand new reverse cycle air conditioner. Together with a gas burning heater, two air conditioners (one in the living room and one in the main bedroom), and electric blankets in all beds, we want to make sure you have a comfortable stay.

Megalong Valley Lookout Cottage is located in Katoomba and can be reached by car in 1.5 hours, or by train and bus/taxi/foot in 2 hours from Sydney Central station.

Our linen is provided by a hotel-grade commercial linen service company in the Blue Mountains. They are of exceptional quality, environmentally friendly, and ethically produced. We hope you will enjoy the fresh linen and feel good knowing that they are also a social enterprise that helps people with disabilities fulfill their career expectations and enrich their lives.

Pets are allowed but please note that the property is not fully fenced. For this reason the space is more suitable for indoor pets. We provide a foldable portable fence suitable for containing smaller pets on the deck area.

Mid-week 1 night stays are available on request for Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights.
