Interaction with guests

The neighbourhood

Everyone who comes to Hyams Beach falls in love with this picturesque location. Most people who have stayed at this house at Hyams Beach told us that they found it difficult to pack up and leave to go back home. Without exaggerating, couple with children who stayed at this house told us that their children had tears in their eyes when it was time to depart!Whatever you enjoy, be it spear or rock fishing, "crabbing" (as our children used to call searching under rock for little "wonders"), watching dolphins from the shore or a boat, swimming, just lying in the sun, bush walking, watching kangaroos from your bedroom window, or whatever, you will find it in this little paradise.

Getting around

Hyams Beach is a remote village in a national park. There is limited public transport and it is advised that you have your own transport. It is only a short stroll to the beach from Elaine's and there is also a great cafe which is also a short walk from the house.

If you are trying to work out where to stay in Jervis Bay - look no further than Hyams Beach! Close to the National Park, Vincentia, Huskisson and St Georges Basin. Hyams Beach is absolutely stunning and is the perfect getaway as it is nice and quiet, and relaxed. The house is only a short 200m walk from the beach, and is nestled away on a very quiet road. The house has everything you need - 3 bedrooms, bathroom, 2 toilets, outside shower, big lounge and dining room, lovely kitchen with all the utilities you need, bbq, outside deck etc. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed, and the other 2 bedrooms just have single beds so perfect for a family... but not so good for 2 families or 2 couples. The hosts are fantastic and make check-in and your stay very easy and enjoyable. Would definitely stay at this house again, and can't wait to visit Hyams Beach again.

Had a great stay over the long weekend. House has 'homely' feel straight away and was well set up with everything we needed. Liked that we could close off the bedrooms from living space for when kids were asleep. Easy walking distance to all beaches and town cafe. Beautiful area

What a wonderful house that really feels like a home away from home. The location is very peaceful and is perfect to catch up on a good nights sleep. There is a large backyard with a BBQ and a patio to enjoy the great Oz outdoors. This is a definite recommendation.

This is a surprisingly spacious house, modern and spotlessly clean with everything you can want for a short break. Kitchen is excellently equipped, good quality linen and towels and immediate communication. Great value at only 5 mins walk to the nearest beach, highly recommend.

Len And Julie User ProfileLen And Julie is a superhost.

Both Julie and I have travelled a great deal. We enjoy experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. We are quite easy going, love children, reading, music, gardening and of course travelling. We try to achieve a balance between being friendly and engaging with guests while at the same time being aware that our guests have come to share our house in order to visit place of interest and for a holiday. We have agreed that we would rather err on allowing absolute privacy for our guests, while at the same time leaving our door open for them to interact with us if they wish. Achieving this difficult balance is, we think, the hardest aspect of hosting guests.
As we also have a holiday house at Hyams Beach (the idyllic little paradise in the Jervis Bay region) we sometimes feel ill at ease that, because of the distance between Leura and Hyams Beach, we generally cannot meet, greet and welcome our guests at Hyams personally.
We do not really have a life motto. But we are truly concerned that guests who stay with us, either at Leura or at Hyams Beach, are as comfortable as we can possibly make them and that they enjoy their little holiday. We think that we would be very unhappy if we did not achieve this objective; even if we miss this target in little ways.
