My wife and I stayed at Sal and Mia's guest house aka, 'the doghouse' during our trip to SF for the Outside Lands music festival. Everything was perfect! A few highlights: -They maintained their 'winter rates' for our trip since we booked 6-7 months in advance -Allowed us to check-in "whenever we arrived", which was very helpful since we were driving up from LA on the day the festival started -Left some snacks (It's It Ice cream Sandwiches!) and beverages (beer!) in the fridge for us to enjoy. And we did! -Prompt and concise communication leading up to and during our stay -Full use of gorgeous multi-level backyard, with stunning views of the city -No parking issues; Muni bus stop is literally steps away -Extremely comfy bed :) If you're planning a trip to SF and are looking to stay in a quiet neighborhood, but still centrally located to shopping, eating, and touristy stuff, this is an ideal spot. Highly recommend. Thanks again Sal & Mia!

This was my first AirBnb experience and it sold me on trying it again, and also set the bar pretty high. The place was exactly what was described. If you’re looking for a room at the Ritz Carlton this wasn’t it, but thats not what they were “selling” in their add. The studio was the perfect size for two people, was very clean and they provided a lot of helpful tips for us. We wanted to stay where real people were and not surrounded by a sea of hotels and that is what we got. The studio had a wonderful deck which had a great view of downtown and was close to both the bus line and a short walk to the street car or subway station. I would highly recommend it if you’re gong to San Francisco!

My best friend and I had a great stay at Sal's place. It was central to where we wanted to be *The Castro* and walkable if you're OK with those San Francisco hills. By the end of our trip we felt the hills were nothing and was easy getting to where we wanted to be. The bus is just a few feet away and extremely easy to use. The place is as advertised. It has a homey feel. Sal was very responsive and checked in with us throughout the trip, although we are pretty self sufficient, so we didn't have too many questions to ask. But it was nice to know she was there if we did. All in all we had a great stay!

Sal is such an amazing host. Very kind and friendly. Fun to talk with. Her property is stunning, a four floor home built into the hillside over looking the city. Breathtaking skyline view. The unit is located at the bottom, right on the patio above the garden. The unit is dog themed and adorable. There is parking on the street if you need it. It is a short ride down the hill to the Castro with lots of bars and restaurants. We would recommend this place to everyone. Don't pass it up.

The perfect spot for 1 or 2 people. Walk or ride to where you need to be. Thoughtful touches throughout the apartment and a great deck to relax. Pleased to be giving my business to socially conscious people too!

Sal User ProfileSal is a superhost.

I'm an old hippie who lived in the Haight in the 60's. I have always loved exploring the different neighborhoods in the city (North Beach, Chinatownlii tn, the Mission......you stand on the corner of 16th and Mission and wonder what country you are in!). I love being in nature, hanging with friends and their children, reading, bike riding and hiking with the dog. Every morning I wake up and appreciate how lucky I am and try to appreciate the precious nature of each day.
