Dear friends and guests of FunTasticPrague,
After collecting more than 130 very good and excellent reviews for accommodating guests in our private apartment we now have the chance to offer you more – more space, more comfort, more flexibility:
From September 2015 on we have the pleasure to welcome you at ARCO Guesthouse, a cosy little hotel just five minutes from where we live.
We have 4 pretty rooms and 3 studios in a small building in a quiet neighbourhood, just 5 minutes from the next tram stop, 15 minutes from the next metro stop and at about 30 minutes walking distance from the city center. There's plenty of restaurants and cafés in the vicinity, two of them in one of Prague's most beautiful and romantic parks just around the corner.
This profile shows you room no. 7, our largest one with a small entrance hall, a kitchenette plus kitchenware, fridge, kettle and microwave, a bathroom, and a spacious living and bedroom with a TV and Wifi. It has a double bed and a couch/cot so that it sleeps altogether 4 guests.
Most important: Communication. Our highlight those past four years has always been the contact to our guests. Whatever they wanted to know we tried to answer. We will tell you what's good and what's not, how to get around, how to avoid tourist traps and crowds, we will recommend places for food and drink as well as tips for theatre, music and other events, we help you not to be lost in translation and, above all, as a hobby (art) historian, I can offer you my individual walking seminars to known and unknown places in the city (See what people say in their reviews).
You will have a large breakfast spread every morning, offering quite a few local specialities, plenty of literature on Prague, slideshows on what to see and more.
We speak German, English, French, Italian, Czech and Slovak.
We're just a small guesthouse - it's your room, a corridor, a staircase (1 floor up) and the breakfast café - but be sure we'll help you to make the most of it...
We are there for you between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. - if you arrive later we charge a late arrival fee of € 10. PLEASE LET US KNOW AT WHAT TIME APPROX. YOU'RE PLANNING TO ARRIVE - it accelerates your check-in and helps us planning.
Interaction with guests
Your most important meeting point is our breakfast café - this is the place where you can ask us all you'd like to know about Prague, where you find literature and information and where you can book our Walking Seminars and more.
Our little street is not very conspicuous. But right around the corner you will find one of Prague's most beautiful and romantic parks, one street up and beyond are several restaurants, one of them vegan, an alternative pub with live music, some cafés and shops. A ten minutes' walk through several parks will bring you to a lively street market (Wed-Sat), to one of Prague's most remarkable churches and to interesting neighbourhoods off the beaten path. And more.
You walk 5 minutes uphill to get to a line 22 tramstop. This line gets you directly downtown, past famous old cafés such as Louvre, Slavia or Savoy, to the National Theatre, the river, the Lesser Town, the castle, the Strahov and Loreta Monasteries and other attractions. Walk 15 minutes to the next metro stop and pass a 24/7 grocery and convenience store with ATM, a drugstore, cafés, restaurants etc.
Other things to note
If you're just looking for a place to stay, there's plenty of accommodation right downtown. Our guests combine the simplicity of our guesthouse with the wealth of information they get.
Please be aware that we're cleaning only before and after your stay. We're certainly open for special arrangements, should you stay longer. We appreciate silence in the corridors, the staircase and the area in front of the building, particularly at night. In case you'd like to take someone with you, this person has to check in like anyone else.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.

For years, I was an evangelist on Europe's ICT industry and research. But my real passions are history, politics, arts, literature, music, languages and movies. I'm originally Austrian but moved to Prague in 2007. I love to live here, delve into the country's treasures, its arts, history, music etc. and let our guests share these experiences.
Since September 2015 I have had the chance to professionalise these passions by managing ARCO Guesthouse, a cosy little B&B in a quiet neighbourhood close to Prague's downtown with a strong cultural focus (Library, information, videos, walks etc.). I'd love to see you there!
