Our house, situated on a hill, is 10 minute walk to Wades Beach, a short bike ride to other beaches and the Mashomack Nature Preserve. Surrounded by trees and flowers with an in-ground salt water pool, every bedroom has glass sliders, nature awaits!
There is a fresh water pond 5 minutes away on foot, which is a delightful swimming experience, and none of the other beaches are more than 5-10 minutes away by car or bicycle.
Montauk, South Hampton, or Orient, are 30 minutes away!

The space

Very private grounds surrounded by trees and garden flowers, very quiet and has a wonderful in ground, heated (if used, this is an extra charge) swimming pool. All rooms have sliding glass doors, bringing nature in! Please take note: This is a two level house and we may be staying downstairs in the lower level, a completely separate space with its own entrance.

Guest access

The main level of the entire house, full kitchen, laundry facilities, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining area. All decks, single and double kayaks which are already at the beach, bicycles, decks and pool and outdoor shower, all to yourself and your family or friends.

Interaction with guests

Just to let them in to the house, although we maybe staying in the lower level, and if you had questions I would be available.

Other things to note

We will possibly be staying on the lower level of the house, but would be completely separate from our guests.
If you want to use the heater on the pool, we will have a gas meter reading on it to let you know the cost afterwards.

We had an amazing time in Shelter Island and staying at Mary Ann's was a special treat for many reasons. The hummingbirds, the lanterns that lit up at night and the fire pit where we roasted s'mores was absolutely perfect for a relaxing and fun beach vacation.

Our host was extremely accommodating, letting us check in and check out flexibly. The outdoor space is a slice of heaven and Shelter Island is just the chill location that we had hoped for. I will be thinking about the pool, fire pit and that feeling of being able to touch the stars for quite sometime. And the plethora of towels was a nice bonus.

Mary Ann User Profile

Artistic, nature loving, fun, active, of Puerto Rican-Chinese descent.
Love swimming, sailing, kayaking, home improving, listening to music, sitting by the campfire, listening to the insects, admiring flowers in the garden and hanging around with my two pomeranians and two parrots, Faust and Ito (african grays). Professional photographer, figurative oil painter, and sometime political activist.
Five things i can't live without: pets, iPhone, friends, music and art!
My favorite travel destinations are where I can see incredible nature, places like the Galapagos, or New Zealand, and also where i am warm, and there is water, Cozumel or Bonaire (for scuba diving), and places like Costa Rica, or Brazil.
Books I have enjoyed include The Catcher in the Rye, 1984, most of Kurt Vonnegut's work, the Crime and the Punishment, When Nietzsche Wept and The Schopenhauer Cure.
Movies I've enjoyed include Star Wars, Migration, Microcosmos, Woody Allen films, Ex Machina, The Black Swan.
Whew, this is getting exhausting! Shows I've enjoyed, Fuerza Bruta, Hedwig and the angry Inch, Sideshow, Cirque Du Soleil.
Music I like is diverse, Calexico, Moby, Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Black Keys, Adele, Imagine Dragons, Gorillaz, Blur, Lorde, Pharrell, Fatboy Slim, etc!
I love all food pretty much, Sushi, grilled anything, Italian, Thai, Spanish, Chinese, and so on!
I am a casual host and try and be a very polite guest. Preferably, I travel loosely, without a lot of scheduling, at a relaxed pace. I have the same style of Airbnb hosting, although i respect and pay attention to the guests scheduling requirements!
I don't really have a motto, but I do believe in living for today, so maybe it's Carpe Diem, or rather, Seize the Fun!

Bohemian, try to live life to the fullest!
