This apartment is in the best district of Venice and about ten mins walk and just about equidistant to St. Marks and Rialto as well as the Arsenale (for Biennale fans). Even better it is just off the beaten track and in an area which is inhabited!
It is fairly cool in the summer (aircon in the drawing room, fans in the bedrooms) and cosy in the winter as it heats up quickly.
There is a shared kitchen and large drawing roomt guests disposal,.
There is also a court-yard you are welcome to use.

The space

Double room in a two bedroom self contained apartment in the heart of Venice but just off the beaten track in a 1300 palazino. The wardrobe in the bedroom has been removed to give more space. Other hanging space is available.

Enter the palazzino through a wonderful private courtyard and up a marble staircase to the second floor which has been lovingly restored by craftsmen who have retained the original feel and methods of workmanship.

It is in the area place in Venice, just a few minutes to St Marks Square and Rialto yet just off the beaten path, so lovely and quiet. Also close to the BIENNALE exhibition and close to the boat stop for easy access to the Islands, including Lido for beaches and the Film Festival and the airport.

Easy access means no bridges with suitcases As it is on the first floor there is no flooding and only one set of stairs to climb!

There are lots of shops and restuarants nearby and a friendly cat lives on the premises.

Guest access

There is a wonderful courtyard you can use during your stay.

Interaction with guests

I love to greet my guests in person if I am able to do so. In busy periods I may not be around much - if at all, and if I am at home I maybe working. Most guests make let Venice entertain them. If I am not around do call if urgent, or contact me through the airbnb website if you are having any difficulties.

Other things to note

The kitchen is always included during your stay, Because you may be sharing it, please always leave clean and tidy.
The bathroom is shared. Because you may be sharing it, please always leave clean and tidy. My maid comes to clean it daily if there are other visitors.

The apartment was in a brilliant location between the Rialto and San Marco, near lovely restaurants and was positioned in a quiet street. The apartment was very spacious shared with another airbandb guest in the other double (URL HIDDEN) shared the bathroom and the well equipped kitchen. This worked really well as we met a really charming German man and then a delightful young Italian couple. The hosts lived upstairs and were helpful and very welcoming. We would definitely stay again.

The house was well located with an easy 20 minute walk to St Mark's Square, it was simple but clean and comfortable. It's close to nice cheaper restaurants.

The description of the place is accurate. The area was nice, spacious, and I loved the high beams in the ceiling in the living room area...Rosemary told me a little about the history on the house, it was nice. On my way from the airport, I was confused with my pre-purchased travel from Trevisto airport, so I was about 2-3 hours late in arrival. Rosemary was very gracious and took the time to give me a map of the local area so I could find my way around because I am directionally challenged. Even though directionally challenged, the picture she gave me to get to and from her place was phenomenal and simple. To help eliminate the same issues I had coming, she send me an e-mail with the coach/bus schedule and what water coach number to take. I looked up the schedule for that also and recommend that she send that to future visitors also. The location is central enough where it according to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)map you can get to different places of interest within 5-15 minutes, even though it took me an hour or more (directional challenged). Once I have mapped something out and traveled the path the previous day, the time does hold true. You can get about the island without having to pay for the water coach which is 7.5 Euro and I believe 12 Euro roundtrip which can add up easily or you can walk about and have tons of fun along the different alleyways. Yowza, from my experience, Venice is made up of alleyways....and even when trying to get back to my bnb after 8p.m, there is still people going about. My recommendation is to have a physical map in case your electronic device dies on you as a few of the visitors I met being lost device had died. There is a Coop about 810 minutes away, I didn't get the chance to buy my breakfast items as I wished to look after breakfast. Half the bob that I stayed at has complimentary breakfast (and I find I enjoy these more), the other half, I always make sure there are amenities to make breakfast. If I could improve on this experience, then complimentary breaks would be it ;). And for an English speaker, it was nice to be understood. Rosemary was also very prompt with her responses to my communications. I would definitely stay at Rosemary at a future date.

Rosemary was a delightful host! She contacted me before my trip and was enthusiastic and sent me a map to show me where the house was! Upon my arrival, she was extremely helpful, warm and available at all times. The house was located in an ideal neighbourhood and the house itself was clean and comfortable to stay in. I would definitely reccomend Rosemary and her house and if I were to ever go back to Venice I would definitely stay with Rosemary! Thank you for your kindness and your hospitality! Staying with you was an absolute pleasure!

Rosemary's house is lovely, and her cats are even lovelier :-) My wife and I had a great time staying in the house, and the location is quite convienient -- the area is not too touristy, but it's not too far from the main attractions either, only 15 minutes or so to the Rialto Bridge, for example. We had a few problems with the wifi signal strength in the bedroom, but moving into the front room always sorted them out. Overall we were very impressed by the property -- the neighbours were friendly, the location was great, and Rosemary was always very quick to respond to any questions or other messages :-) I would definitely recommend staying here to others.

From the moment we booked the room, Rosemary was attentive and very helpful. She was in constant contact leading up to our stay and even met us at the airport and organised transport to her house. The room was close to the historic centre, clean, spacious, en suite and gave a real taste of old Venice. We had the most fantastic 3 days and would highly recommend staying with Rosemary to our family and friends.

I felt immediately at home in Rosemary's beautiful home and enjoyed my stay increasingly as I got to know my way around the neighbourhood, discovering some of Venice's treasures just around the corner. And Rosemary was great company. I am looking forward to the next time.
