The Pavilion is a Luxurious Self Catered Wing of Foulis Castle just out of Evanton near the ancient burgh of Dingwall. The Pavilion is positioned within beautiful landscaped gardens overlooking the Cromarty Firth. Foulis Castle is a 15 min walk away from the Storehouse of Foulis Restaurant & Farm shop, which is situated on the shore of the Cromarty Firth.

The space

The Pavilion is located on the South/West wall of the Foulis Castle Courtyard and is a Private Luxury Self Catered home away from home in the Scottish Highlands. It is a tranquil, quiet sanctuary to rebalance mind, body and soul. The Pavilion front door opens onto the Foulis Castle private drive, parking and beautifully landscaped gardens & ponds. The kitchen area over looks the Castle courtyard and Foulis Castle gardens and has all modern facilities with a table seating 4-6. The Dining Room table seats 6-8, with views over the Castle Courtyard gardens. The Pavilion's Drawing room is a remnant Tower Room of the ancient Foulis Castle which dates from the mid 15th century. It has 3 large sofas with a 38" flat screen Smart TV with broadband internet connection & Sky TV Cinema. The Pavilion has central heating which is provided by a biomass heating system, so the apartment is warm throughout. The Pavilion also contains luxurious 63 oz woollen carpets. There is a toilet beside the front door and 2 ensuite bathrooms. The towels and linen on the beds are all new with duvets or blankets. All bedrooms have orthopaedic memory foam mattresses. The master bedroom has a king size wooden bed and the second bedroom comes with two singles which can zip together creating a super king size bed, there is also plenty of hanging space for clothes. Foulis Castle has guided tours which are held on Tuesdays at 10.30am, there is no charge for the tour but donations to the Foulis Castle Trust are welcome. The Pavilion has it's own internet router with unlimited Broadband and WiFi.

Guest access

Guests have unlimited access to the landscaped gardens surrounding Foulis Castle. Feel free to walk amongst mature broad-leafed hardwood tree alley's and a walled arboretum where they can pick fruit in the summer. Guests are welcome to walk around the landscaped ponds and venture down to the near-by Foulis Burn which follows the original Castle drive all the way to the shores of the Cromarty Firth. Foulis Castle is set in a central location within Foulis Estate (2650 acres) which is surrounded by arable fields which grow Malting Barley for Whisky production. Behind Foulis Castle is the Hill of Foulis which has managed woodlands with beautiful views all the way up the Cromarty Firth. Within the managed woodlands are forestry tracks which lead to spectacular views of Ben Wyvis one of Scotland's great Munro's.

We look forward to personally welcoming you to our family home. Maps are provided with brochure's of local activities. We have outlined several scenic Foulis Estate walks.

Easily the best part of our scotland trip and the best airbnb place we have stayed at. This is a destination unto itself. Additionally, it's perfectly situated while being just far enough from the bustle of the city. The castle grounds are extraordinarily beautiful while the pavilion itself is spacious and very thoughtfully equipped. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Stay here if your travels take you through this part of the world.

Staying in a castle in the Scottish Highlands - what an amazing experience - one we will never forget. Unfortunately didn't get to meet Emma in person, but her instructions were very easy to follow and she was always quick to respond to any emails. The flat was huge, almost as big as our home in Australia and had a huge kitchen, separate dining and lounge, 4 poster bed, separate spare bedroom, separate bathrooms, ample heating, washers, dryer etc. 10 minutes from Dingwall where there are cafes and supermarkets to stock up on food etc as well as takeways. We could have easily stayed here for much longer than 2 nights. The flat is located in a wing of the castle and overlooks the amazing courtyard garden on one side and a beautiful field of manicured grass out to ponds and gardens on the other side. It was a real treat to walk the grounds after dinner and take in the atmosphere of such an amazing place. We were very lucky to have an appointment with the mother of the present Clan Chief and was then given an great tour by her carer, who delighted us with stories of the family, the castle and local highlights. Such an amazing place, such an amazing experience. Loved every minute of this stay.

The Pavilion at Foulis Castle is the best Air BnB I have ever experienced. It's like being lent a private, historic home. Emma has thought of every kitchen and laundry convenience you could possibly need. The beds are comfortable and the courtyard gardens and grounds are stunning. Our stay of one night was way too short.

We had a lovely stay. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful and so are the rooms. The kitchen was the best stocked of all the ones we used in our ten days in Scotland. Emma was easy to communicate with and the information in the house was great. We stayed because it's our Clan castle but would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and unique stay.

Emma User ProfileEmma is a superhost.

Hi, my name is Emma Watson.
I live in the Scottish Highlands with my family, I love travelling and cooking.

I started using Airbnb 6 years ago to rent a flat in Venice and found that my experience was an around success. I started renting my accommodation in the Scottish Highlands 18 months ago and have been really happy with the guests and their feedback.

The aim for me is quite simple, offering clean, warm, comfortable accommodation.

I'd be happy to recommend places to visit, the best place for any outdoor pursuits and where to eat out with your friends and loved-ones.

I'll do all I can to make your stay comfortable, personalised and very special.

I look forward to welcoming you and helping you discover the Scottish Highlands.

Cheers, Emma
