The space

Tastefully furnished, this cozy space offers a full kitchen, a light-filled living room, and a covered porch. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed with down comforters and high thread count sheets. The main bathroom has a shower and small tub. The second bathroom, which has a shower, is located in the second bedroom. Egyptian cotton bath towels are provided. A love seat in the entryway, next to the kitchen, can be pulled out into a twin sized bed. The living room has windows on three sides and looks out onto a small garden area. There is Cable TV and a DVD player, with a small selection of DVD's available for viewing. There is no carpeting, just travertine marble tiles throughout. Please note: there is one step into the kitchen, one step into the living room/sun room, and one step into the sleeping area in the second bedroom. These steps are marked with a different color tile than the rest of the floor.

Catherine is a welcoming but unobtrusive host. Her house is very comfortable and within an easy walk of the centre of Taos in a quiet location. It is great to sit on the deck in the evening.

our stay at Blue Heron Retreat was wonderful. The casita was very clean, quiet and serene and contained every convience we could ask for. We loved the privacy of the place including the garden. How convenient to be in walking distance to the plaza, yet far enough to enjoy peace and relaxation. Catherine is a lovely host and we will be back for another visit hopefully soon.”

Located in a quiet, safe neighborhood close to everything that we needed. The space is beautiful and comfortable, equipped with everything that we needed for our four day stay. Catherine was helpful with suggestions of restaurants and hikes and she made our stay a pleasure. We would definitely return.
