Nestled in the "ghost town" of Virginia City , a national landmark, you can get away from it all. We are ideally situated en route between Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park; a relaxing break on your journey. We're also the place for experiencing Montana's early history of gold!

The space
This is an original turn-of-the-century homesteaders cabin, built of handhewn logs, from the Twin Bridges area of South West Montana. We (Jon and Rikki) saved this cabin from being demolished; restacked it log by log on the present site ; painstakingly and meticulously restoring it, using as many recycled materials as possible. What we are able to offer you now, is: a fully equipped kitchen, one & half bath, two interleading bedrooms upstairs, a warm and inviting living area with a woodstove and a big front porch for you to relax and watch the deer and the antelope play! We are on the north side of town, within the city limits (a "city" of 608 acres and 200 people!)

Virginia City (population 200) is nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, in Southwest Montana. This peaceful cabin is situated on the edge of town with panoramic views of the Tobacco Root Mountains, the Highlands and Ruby Mountain ranges. A national historic landmark, VC is the best preserved placer gold mining camp in the Rocky Mountain region, rich in cultural heritage sites. Walking the wooden boardwalks transports you back in time to the 1860s when VC was a vibrant hub of early western spirit and adventure.

This enchanting region also offers famous blue ribbon trout fishing, exceptional hiking and horseback riding . Visit the renowned Lewis and Clark Caverns or float the white waters of the Madison River. Just 30 miles on is rustic Norris Hot Springs where you can eat organic fare and listen to live music while you soak. 85 Miles along on US Highway 287 is world famous, spectacular Yellowstone National Park. En route to Yellowstone, an hours drive from the cabin, are the spectacular Cliff and Wade Lakes offering excellent swimming and canoeing.

When you wish to break from your solitude, take a short walk downtown and visit museums, quaint artisan shops and restaurants. VC offers live summer theatre, vaudeville, restaurants & live music. Take your children to the kids fishing pond, sign up for city or summit tours or hop the train over to Nevada City just one mile away where living history demonstrations, the old music arcade and gold panning ignite your imagination.
