The location could not be better! Right in the historic downtown area with plenty of great places to eat and explore at an easy walking distance. The Pilot House was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our visit to Hannibal.

Clean, cute place! And by clean, I mean spotless. The location cannot be beat-- it is about two blocks to downtown and the riverfront. We were able to come and go with ease. I would recommend bringing outdoor chairs (and a grill since there is no range/oven) to enjoy the patio like we did after the little one went to bed. One thing to note: we had zero cellular service in the unit so do your restaurant and attraction research before you arrive!

This is the perfect location and the perfect place to stay while enjoying beautiful Hannibal! Melanie is a wonderful host and the accommodations are just perfect. This was our first air b&b and after being treated with such a lovely stay I can't imagine us traveling any other way. Thank you for sharing your lovely place!

If you're looking for a roomy place close to all the points of interest in Hannibal, this is the ideal place. We visit my hometown of Hannibal every two years, and my husband likes to be close to the downtown area. Over the past few visits, we've had use of relative's apartment. As this was no longer available, we checked into the nearest decent hotel, and had a bit of price shock. Luckily, we decided to give AirBNB a go, and found Melanie's place, which proved roomier and cheaper than the local BW. Location is a huge selling point, as you're able to walk to most of the downtown tourist attractions, eateries, parks and riverfront. Other locations of interest are within easy reach by car. Although the address is listed on the main street, the property's entrance is actually along the parallel alley, which gives an added sense of privacy, with ample parking. The property itself is great, especially for a family of four. Two beds, plus a daybed downstairs. Main TV with dish, and two more TVs with local channels (one with DVD player. Plenty of seating in the kitchen/dining area, plus a nook. The only thing I felt really lacking was an range for cooking (there is a microwave), but I think this was because we were there for such an extended time (2 weeks). Overall, we had a brilliant stay. Great locale, great space, and Melanie was great at communicating with me throughout. If you're going to the downtown Hannibal area for any amount of time, this is the place you should stay. Highly recommended.

This apartment is in a great geographic location if planning to visit the Mark Twain sites in Hannibal. A little hidden, but we thought that was a plus. It worked well for our weekend trip where we were doing a lot of traveling around the area including Quincy and Pittsfield and this was fairly central for our travels. It was very comfortable to crash and unwind before retiring in the living room after a long day of activities. It is a very unique space and is nicely decorated. There is a railroad nearby with freight trains running through at various times day and night. We only took notice of this the first night as we got acclimated to our temporary abode. After that, we were barely aware of the train activity.

The stay at Melanie's place was great. The space was very unique and "cozy" just as the listing described. I was in town for an event. This location made it very convenient for me to do what I needed to do for my trip.
