We had a great time at Dang & Rachel's apartment. The room is bright and breezy and it was a lot of fun sitting on the balcony and watching all the activity below. I was a bit confused by the shower at first but I think that was mainly due to the jet lag :) We would stay there again.

Rachel communicated well starting from the time of booking, then a couple of days before arrival, and also during my stay. She also gave useful tips. The studio flat was as described, adequately equiped and the bed was comfortable. Rachel was very flexible regarding my needs such as storing luggage on the day of arrival and time of check in / check out and how to return the keys. The neighbourhood is very central, with the necessary noises of a city that is alive. The views from the balcony are splendid. Wi-Fi seemed to be fast (only tested using my phone) and there were plenty of TV channels for those who are more interested in shows about the American Dream rather than the reality of Vietnamese life. ;-) The elevator was "on and off" which in my case meant 99% being off (repairs were probably delayed due to the new year). Anyway, I did not mind climbing 8 floors. For longer stays, the flat might not be ideal but otherwise 5 stars.

Thank you Rachel and Dang for a wonderful place to stay in Saigon! First of all the location is much better than I expected. As my taxi pulled up and I noticed I was right in the centre of town I was really pleased. The apartment block itself is old. But with that comes character. And a beautiful balcony overlooking the town square. The studio room is spacious and pretty much the same size as what I live in at home so I was extremely comfortable with that. I only packed light but I was impressed with the amount of storage space should one need it. The bathroom is a comfortable size and although the shower either ran really hot or really cold it wasn't an issue for me. As the building is old the lift isn't the quickest in the world. And as such its always kind of busy when it does arrive. However I enjoyed this as I often ended up in conversation with local Vietnamese people in the building who were always so smiley and curious as to what I was doing there :-) My only gripe - and unfortunately it did irritate me a fair bit, was that the front gate is closed at 12 midnight so you need to be home before then or face possibly being locked out. Although the security guard may be able to open up for you through the night it didn't seem guaranteed and I actually felt like an inconvenience with this. This is not advertised in the listing and is a crucial issue especially for those on holiday. I had to cut short a night out with a friend I had been speaking to for such a long time to get back 'not too late' after midnight. Rachel spoke to the security guard about this informing him I might be late and I appreciate that but this really, really, really needs to be displayed in the listing. Other than that I would definitely stay here again! Oops one last point - the apartment is situated within walking distance from Bitexco Tower, Vietnam's tallest building, so if you are struggling to find your way home, just look for the Bitexco and you wont be far away! To sum up, if you are here to enjoy the sights of Saigon in the daytime and enjoy amazing, well priced Vietnamese food locally then this should be perfect for you... If you are here to party however, you may need to reconsider. PS - Thank you Rachel for recommending to me such a great place to try Pho in Saigon! I loved it! Until I put too much chilli on trying to impress the locals haha :-)

Dear Mr. Lee, We would like to thank you so much for choosing to stay then loving every detail in my apartment. We are so happy when hearing that you felt comfortable at there. Because its location is right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh city, our guests will find easy to learn about the culture and history of this place and try Vietnamese local foods as you did. And in order to guard the people living in this building, the gate will be closed at midnight. But I've taken care of this inconvenience already, you knew that. Even though, we will to let this information state in the listing. My apartment is poised to be your home and always wait for you come back. P/S: One thing I would like to tell you in person. I used to get lost when the first time I have been to my apartment. And you are right. Bitexco Financial Tower was definitely the good signal for me to find way home. lol. Take care, Dang&Rachel.

The house is located at the very central area in Ho Chi Minh City, everything is walking distance. The view from the balcony is also great. Rachel is kind and lovely, the communication was always easy and she offered me recommendations around the city, which is very helpful.

This place was not very clean. The bathroom drain was a mess, and there were lots of cobwebs. It was dusty. The TV and cable did not work, in fact it was not even connected when we arrived. The place has a lot of traffic noise, which we were advised of and didn't bother us. It is a terrific location, close to alot of the attractions in the city. For us, it was not a relaxing place to be, no really relaxing place to sit. The pictures are accurate though, and the pictures show everything there is, so look closely to be sure you'll be comfortable there.

Overall, a bit of a disappointment. The apartment is in a central location and the host is a good communicator. However, there were a number of things that let our stay down. Each time you use the lift, to get to the 8th floor, you have to pay a nominal fee of 3000VND per person. The apartment was not particularly clean, there were leaking pipes in the bathroom wetting the floor continuously and there were awful smells coming from the drain. During our stay, the building had intermittent water problems which left us without water when we needed to shower (the host did give us a huge bottle of water due to the water issue, which was appreciated, but not ideal).

It's been 3 pleasant nights staying in Song apartment. Rachel is kind and lovely. Best thing about this apt: super central place with a view, walkable to all the significant landmarks of the city. It's basically a cozy home in the heart of busy cosmopolitan Saigon.
