Lesley and David have a beautiful home with loads of amenities. Their knowledge of the history of the property lends coolness to the unique experience of staying in a centuries-old barnhouse. Though the weather didn't agree with us during our stay there were plenty of indoor distractions (spa, ping-pong, and beautiful gathering areas) to keep us entertained.

Second visit, so much to see in the region, really need a week! Bordeaux, St Emilion and the citadel town of Blaye all within a 30 minute drive. Cognac 50 minutes. Thousands of wineries... Enjoyed the morning visit by the hens and tried some of their delicious free range eggs. The house is full of character, dates back some two hundred years.

The house is as described. Tastefully furnished. Clean, comfortable and well equipped with quality appliances and a fast internet connection - even USB wall sockets. Beautiful grounds, terraces and pool area. An ideal place if you want somewhere quiet and rural yet within easy distance of all the main tourist attractions. Up to 30 minutes drive to most. There are some amazing restaurants and lovely markets with fresh local produce. A super takeaway pizza restaurant in the village if you don't want to cook. Lesley is very helpful and there is a mountain of tourist information leaflets in the garden room.

We loved being in the Bordeaux region and it was good to open the gates at Chez Emilion each afternoon upon our arrival. We especially appreciated the basket of fresh eggs and wine. Our son could not wait to feed the chickens in the morning. As a boy who is growing up in a city he could simply not get enough of the spacious country garden. Lesley and David took good care of us and stayed in touch despite their own busy schedule at the time. Thank you!

Wow! What a fabulous first trip with Airbnb! Lesley and Dave were just so warm and welcoming, we felt we'd stayed with them before! The house was beautiful, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for your trip, perfect! The hot tub was a welcome feature at the end of each day, as unfortunately it was to chilly to use the pool. We would most definitely stay again!

Chez Emillion was a wonderful retreat for a peaceful weeks holiday. Lesley and David were wonderful hosts getting the balance exactly right in terms of offering help and advice but giving you the privacy and space to enjoy your holiday. Chez Emillion's facilities were excellent with all the modern conveniences of home. The property was clean and well laid out with plenty of space. An easy drive from Bordeaux airport set in a quiet village. A large supermarket just a 10min drive away in Cavignac although a smaller one is closer making this a very easy self catering rental. Hard to fault and we will be looking again at availability for next year. Fond memories of the chickens coming to see us at breakfast time and a special mention for Elgar the cat who pops in to see how you are from time to time. The reviews of Chez Emillion speak for themselves including this one and you can book with confidence.

David & I have lived in the Bordeaux wine region since 1991 and have thus accrued an enormous amount of local knowledge about the region, it's history, the vineyards and restaurants.

As your holiday is one of the most important events of the year it is our philosophy to provide you with a high standard of accommodation and advice so that your holiday here is a memorable experience. This is born out by the high percentage of our guests who return again and again. Our approach is both professional and friendly.

We are constantly upgrading the property and gardens and pay attention to the smallest details.

The grounds are a child's paradise with a pool, trampoline, animals and wildlife.

Our own house backs onto the same grounds, so although the guests' area is private, we are on hand for emergencies and are fluent in French. Emergencies include helping guests out if they run out of wine!

The property was originally a wine château and when we moved here in 1991 Chez Emilion was a barn. We replaced the roof and just about everything else except the centuries old stone walls. The ground floor suite walls are concave where the cows, who lived in this former stables, licked the saltpeter from the walls.

We can also offer a wealth of information to anyone thinking of moving into the region.
