The space

The place is a gem at the base of the Hollywood hills. Apartment includes the following:

First Floor Apartment;
Fresh, clean towels are provided;
Queen-sized bed with memory foam mattress;
Wi-Fi connection;
TV with Roku (HBO, Netflix);
A potted palm and a cactus (watering instructions on plants);
Secure building

Guest access

The apartment is located on the first floor, so it's easily accessible. Comes with a full kitchen for cooking. Studio backs up to a wrap around garden so you have privacy and quiet. There is also a coin-operated laundry room located on the first floor.

Interaction with guests

I am accessible by phone or text if you have any issues. I also have a friend in the building that can assist you with any immediate concerns. More than happy to give you any recommendations on the city.

The neighbourhood

The apartment is located on the border between Hollywood and Los Feliz and contains the best that LA has to offer:

If you want to be at the center of it all, you're only a block away from Hollywood Blvd, and a ten minute walk from Hollywood & Vine.

If you're craving a hike, you can walk to Griffith Park - the largest city park in the country.

Franklin Village (trendy stretch of bars, coffee shops, and bookstores), UCB, and Thai town are all within walking distance so experience some local flavor.

Getting around

Despite the Missing Persons' song, people do walk in LA. At least in this area. You're only a five minute walk from Franklin Village, UCB, and Thai Town. Uber and Lyft drivers never take more than five minutes for pickup. Apartment is three blocks away from the Hollywood/Western Metro station so you can head downtown or to Studio City and North Hollywood.

House Rules

I expect guests to be clean and respectful. No smoking, no drugs, or pets.

I know it's Hollywood, but please no house parties.

Mainly, I expect you to clean up after yourself and leave the place like you saw it, and not cause any trouble.

While we weren't able to meet Michael personally, he was a great host. Always available and prompt to answer whatever queries we may have and very friendly. His place was really good and the best in term of location, we loved that it is very close to everywhere in LA especially Hollywood and Griffith Park. The only downside was if you have a car, parking at night could be a big challenge but Michael has provided suggestions/options on where to park our car. His place was really cozy although drainage and flushing of the toilet bowl could take some time but not a massive issue. All in all, our whole stay was amazing and we're likely to book his place again :)

The host made me feel very welcome. I felt like Michael was more a friend than just the host. He made me feel very comfortable in his studio. The studio was just like the pics show; very cute. It's in an old building and does have some of the problems that old buildings have so if you're looking for place with comforts of a modern apartment, I recommend you stay there instead. This place is for adventurous singles or couples who are independent and looking for someplace to chill. It's in a great location; close to main Hollywood but E Hollywood is worth exploring too. Check out Barnsdall Park and the Hollyhock House by Frank Lloyd Wright. A secret city treasure. Michael's studio is also easily reached by public transport. The Flyways Hollywood bus from LAX for $8 will get you to within walking distance of his place. If you do have a car better check with Michael about parking because free parking is hard to find in Hollywood. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend Cozy Studio.

The place looked as described and shown in the pictures. It was small and clean. The only problems we experienced was the drain in the tub being clogged a bit and the toilet only flushed once every 10 minutes. Also, parking was bad at night but it was free at least. Michael was very nice and responsive.The spare key kind of jammed when we first tested it and he came back to help us and show us how to get the key out of the lock. Overall, the place was decent for the low price.

Michael was very sweet and accommodating. My flight arrived early and he allowed us to check in at 9am! As soon as we arrived he showed us around his studio which was definitely spacious enough for two. The bed was very comfy which was a plus and his studio was on the first floor so barely any sunlight came in to avoid the blazing heat that weekend we stayed. Would stay again!
