The space

Whether in Atlanta for business or leisure, the studio is the perfect spot to enjoy all that Atlanta has to offer. Our private entrance studio in the O4W is the lower level/daylight basement of our family home (may hear us going about our day upstairs from time to time, but we do our best to keep our noise to a minimum) and is comfortable for two people, but could accommodate a third person. The studio has a sofa sectional that easily converts into a sleeper (full size sleeper). The sofa and bed are firm and quite comfortable. All linens are provided and are stored in the chaise. There is another chaise couch that's extremely comfortable and could accommodate another sleeping guest. The studio has wi-fi and a flat screen television with premium cable and Netflix for your enjoyment. The studio also includes a beverage refrigerator, microwave, single cup coffee pot, and adjustable A/C and heat controlled by the guest.

Guest access

You will have access to the entire studio via private entrance in the rear of the home with keyless entry (code provided upon check in). Check in is available after 3 pm to 10 pm. Other times may be accommodated on a case-by case basis. In your request or inquiry to book, please include what time you plan to arrive.

Interaction with guests

I live in the home with my family and you will have access to me you as needed. I'm available by phone or text to answer questions about the studio, the neighborhood, things to do and dining options.

Other things to note

We've lived in the neighborhood for 16 years and have seen the tremendous growth that's taken place and are glad to share with you some of our favorite places. Don't hesitate to ask. Also, we require guests to have completed airbnb's verified identification process. Please plan to do so before making a request if you already haven't.

Julia was great. The studio was perfect in a great area, walking distance from so many hip spots. Julia provided great recommendations around town for us to experience during our stay.

Overall, we had a great stay at Julia's place over DragonCon weekend. It was just as described, and she had cold water bottles (which we really appreciated) and snacks waiting when we arrived. Julia was excellent at communicating, so everything was smooth (from check-in where she gave us the lay of the land to check-out). The Thumbs-Up Diner (within walking distance basically just down the street) was great, as recommended (though it did busy quick). Location was excellent, never had any issues with the on-street parking, and Uber was always ready to get us to and from downtown quickly. Because we were in the (very nice) basement of a home, we could hear creaks and squeaks of the floorboards as people walked around, but it wasn't a big deal. The sofa bed is firm, as described, and just fit me and my husband. I do like a more cushion-y mattress, but it's just a matter of preference. Ultimately, though, I would definitely recommend Julia's place to the individual or couple looking for a nice, welcoming, safe-feeling place to stay near downtown.

Julia was a great informative host, ran into some troubles with the wifi, but I'd definitely recommend her place.

Response from Julia:
Enjoyed hosting you and Tori. Sorry for the spotty wi-fi that weekend. It's usually not a problem and I've been told by other guests that it works great.

Place was great--walking distance from a few bars and restaurants. 10 min drive to Downtown and 15 min drive to Midtown. Studio was clean and spacious--ideal for one person to stay in.

Old Fourth Ward is a wonderful artistic enclave of Atlanta which also happens to have the Dr. Martin Luther King birthplace and Museum. Its walkable, with lots of rugged lofts and brightly colored cottage houses. My new fave nabe of Atlanta! Julia's place was just right; very clean, modern appliances and facilities. It was like staying at a boutique hotel. I loved my experience here.

I love meeting new people and sharing all the fantastic things that Atlanta has to offer. When I travel I love getting the real local experience and can offer the same to guests. My retirement plan is to own a bed and breakfast but why wait until then.
