Vibrant neighbourhood

Guests say this area is walkable with lots to explore, especially for dining out.
This house was built more than 100 years ago (survived WW2 and some great earthquakes), and was renovated recently.

It is located just 1min away from Hiroo subway station (Hibiya-line).
Hiroo is one of most popular residential neighborhood in Tokyo.
There are many restaurants and shops in Hiroo and it is very easy to access to Ebisu, Roppongi (3min by subway), Shibuya and Omote-sando (within 3km).

The space
* Room: Living, Dining, Kitchen, 1Bed room, Bath room, Toilet

* Suitable for 2 guests. Please see below for the sleeping options. The bed in the bed room is Japanese semi-doubled size, might be small for 2. The bed room is occupied by the bed.

<< Sleeping options>>

1. A semi-double bed (120cm wide x 210cm) in the bed room downstairs
** You might feel small for 2 adults

2. A sofa served as a bed (116cm wide x 190cm) in the living room upstairs

Bed mattress in the bed room is the same as one in Park Hyatt Tokyo (When I stayed there, I checked the mattress, and bought the same one). I'm sure you can sleep very well after a long trip.

* Chairs in the living/dining room have recently been replaced by WISHBONE CHAIR aka Y-chair. The chairs in the listing photos are no longer available. (July 2022)

Other things to note
*** Please read carefully the house rules and below before you proceed with booking ***

If you are really sensitive to noise, you may feel uncomfortable with your stay. This is a very old wooden terraced house sharing walls with next doors. Sound absorbing materials are applied to walls for soundproofing, but you will still hear some sound from neighbors (conversation or sound of daily life). Also, the bed room is by the small street, so you will have some noise from garbage cars (3 days a week in the morning) and paper delivery scooters every morning. The street is narrow and no cars are passed thorough. You will find some more honest comments about it on the reviews from our past guests.

When you look at an Ukiyoe (Japanese woodblock prints), you will find that a wall is just 'a paper' (which is called 'Shoji and Fusuma). It is easy for people to hear the neighbors voice as well as wind and rain sound. We regard it as not so much noise but BGM.
A cold winter made an ancient Japanese and created a beautiful Kimono.
Unfortunately, Japanese nowadays throw away that life style. We highly respect our history, culture and tradition. That's why we didn't scrap our house but renovate it. Looking forward to hosting people who understand our thought.

Lives in Shibuya City, Japan
I've been living in Shibuya-ku for over 10 years, so I know the area around Shibuya, Ebisu, Azabu, and Hiroo like the back of my hand. I'm happy to recommend a variety of excellent restaurants - though I must warn you, it's very easy to gain a few extra pounds! During my time as a college student, I traveled solo across Japan from Hokkaido to Yakushima, so I can also suggest some wonderful places to visit. I look forward to hosting you soon!
