Description

The space

This is a lovely cottage its entrance is through double doors in a yard which leads to a walled garden so it is a safe space for children. Its bedrooms are both doubles but the main one is quite large enough for a travel cot or a couple of put up beds if needed. There is a hose and a washing line for wetsuits! and there is ample safe space to store precious surf boards.

Guest access

You will be welcome to access the yard and the garden but I do use it too and the garden is a great joy to me so I am not too keen on kids with footballs or dogs with bones. There is a big barbeque and an outside table where you can enjoy al fresco dining when it is warm enough.

Interaction with guests

I live in the other half of the property so I will be able to help you whenever you need it. For example if you would like to come for Christmas I could get you a Christmas tree and order you a turkey.

The neighbourhood

Witheridge is in between the two moors of Devon it is about 30mins away from Exmoor and 45min away from Dartmoor it is also 45mins from the surfing beaches of North Devon. I believe, it is approximately half way on the Two Moors way so if you are doing the walk and have blisters, the Hare and Hounds cottage might be an answer.

Getting around

The village is on a bus route and there are buses to Tiverton and South Molton quite regularly the nearest train station is Tiverton Parkway.

Other things to note

This property is on the road so great care should be taken with small children and they should not be allowed to leave without an adult with them.

We had a lovely stay in Clare's cottage. The cottage itself was great, comfy and had everything we needed. Clare was helpful and the stay was totally stress free.

Rustic cottage, full of character and charm in pretty rural Devonshire village. Excellent value for money! Claire was a warm and welcoming host. Stayed three nights with three young children visiting family locally and had a lovely time.

The Old Hare and Hounds is a beautiful old coaching Inn with a thatched roof situated in a village that I can only describe as heavenly. Quiet and secluded yet a convenience store that sells everything from pork chops to Benadryl . A cosy pub a minutes walk away where the food was very good. The Old Hare and Hounds was soo comfortable, great bathroom, well equipped kitchen wifi that worked , sky tv, an open fire. Clare really is a super host, she couldn't do more to help . I would recommend this airbnb unreservedly. Don't hesitate

As a host Clare is up there with the best. She made sure we wanted for nothing and she went over and above what was expected of her. The accommodation was spacious and there was everything there that we needed, we enjoyed the experience and will definitely be returning
