The Studio is what we call it because for many years it was an art studio, a space for creative energy to flow. It's actually a full apartment with kitchen, bath, laundry. It's nestled in the trees in a quiet neighborhood on the Stanislaus River. I can't host pets.
Guests have full access to the Studio. There are two private entrances, both require navigating a flight of stairs. Parking on the property is limited to two cars maximum, one car is highly preferred. It snows here occasionally.
Interaction with guests
I live on the property and am available most weekends and evenings, some weekdays. I would love to come over and chat if you invite me into "your" space!
Other things to note
There is so much to do around here! Wine tasting, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, caves, rivers, live music, gold rush history, art galleries, and more. Local special attractions include Calaveras Big Trees State Park, Bear Valley Ski Area, Bear Valley Cross Country Ski Area, Moaning Cavern, Mercer Caverns, the gold rush towns of Murphys and Angels Camp, and awesome hikes from 20 minutes to days right out the front door.
My family lives on the property and close to the Studio. This is not a party rental, please respect the quiet atmosphere of the neighborhood. Unfortunately I cannot host guests with pets; no dogs allowed. The maximum occupancy of four people needs to be strictly maintained; please no more than four at any time.
I have no expectations, only hopes and dreams.
I choose to live a simple life in the mountains, and want to open a comfortable space here in my corner of the Central Sierra to friends and acquaintances. I enjoy stepping out my front door, into the forest and down to the Stanislaus River where I can walk for days and not see another soul. I also enjoy the skiing, hiking, biking, and kayaking available locally, as well as the art, wine and music.
A stay here will plant you among the oaks and pines with a view of the forest and garden. There will be visits from the wild turkeys, deer, the house cats, foxes, coyotes, and the occasional bear or mountain lion. It's a peaceful, quiet neighborhood.
