About this listing
Experience Zanzibar and Stone town like a local! Find yourself in a beautifully renovated apartment, that is light and fresh, and distinctly Swahili. You will have one of the rare hidden gardens in town. All sights in Zanzibar are an hour away, making this is an ideal base for your explorations!
Escape to the apartment, after a day of sunbathing, exploring the island, or sightseeing in Stone town, and you will come home to a fresh apartment with a lovely garden- a unique and rare find in town.
The home is spacious, and very light- without much fuss. Newly refurbished and fitted, all furniture is hand-carved by Swahili carpenters. You will get an authentic taste of life in Zanzibar as the home is built with the traditional coral rock and mud method, which has given the town it’s name.
Full and private access to the apartment and garden.
Interaction with guests
We will gladly help you to arrange your stay in Zanzibar, facilitate travel, and get good deals (we are locals and come from a tour operating background).
Your apartment has full privacy, but we will be there to meet and greet. You can give us a shout with any questions during your stay.
Where to start? You will be in the heart of stone town, in a square where the youngsters play board games, children hopscotch and parents sit and gossip as time passes by.
The oldest church in East Africa is to your right, Jaws (as in the shark) corner is to your left. When you peer out of the window, you will find our trusted Abdullah selling exotic fruits at your doorstep. Any other sights in stone town will not be further then a 10 min walk.
As we are in the heart of stone town, the airport and ferry port is easily accessible.
We can help to facilitate your travel plans, and pre-arrange trusted drivers. Just give us a shout.
Other things to note
The apartment is spacious and will accommodate a family of two adults, and two children. Or up to three adults.
We further provide unlimited WIFI, and a laundry service by washing machine (a luxury in these parts).
Fully furnished kitchen.
Feel at home, and feel free.
We do kindly ask the guests to respect that we are in a neighbourhood that is close-knit and shies away from alcohol. The people of Zanzibar are tolerant and very kind, but would prefer to see women covering their shoulders and wearing clothes that do not go above the knee. Zanzibari people are most welcoming and warm, and will appreciate the gesture.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.

We look forward to introducing you to what we love most about Zanzibar, and what makes it such a stunningly beautiful place.
Your hosts are a young international couple with two children. We run our own businesses on the island, one a socially responsible skincare brand and the other a tour/safari operator company.
Send any questions our way, we will be happy to help.
