Situated on a hill above Queens Park, and offering a view of the sea from the bedrooms, Eileen's garden flat has a great deal of character, homeliness, and comfort. I stayed there to attend a conference and found it to be a great base from which to move back and forwards between events. The bedroom where I stayed was spacious, the shared bathroom always accessible with towels provided, living space available with television, and the kitchen conducive to making tea/coffee/food when required. Eileen provided bread, milk, coffee, and tea, and even offered to make breakfast if needed. She was a very friendly, helpful and approachable host, as was her daughter Maisie who was also there towards the end of my four day stay. The house was also clean and going back to my reference to it having character, there was a very artistic feel to the decor because it includes a mix of music and theatre themed posters alongside authentic artwork produced by her son who's an illustrator. So if you're big on art, atmosphere, and music then you'll also enjoy the background aesthetics of this flat. It also had a really nice patio area which unfortunately I never got a chance to use because of being so busy with the conference. As regards the location, it is basically a straight walk to the city centre from the house through the right hand side of Queens Park, down through a couple of streets with the name Rock Gardens, and out towards the seafront, where the Pier comes into view. My only regret on the trip has nothing to do with my stay at Eileen's. It's that the conference was so hectic I didn't get more of a chance to explore Brighton. Interesting place with all its sea, shops, and pubs. Well worth a visit, and somewhere like Eileen's accommodation is just as good and far more reasonably priced than the city centre hotels.

Eileen and her daughter were very hospitable and I would definitely recommend a stay in their home. Eileen was even kind enough to walk me to the bus stop so I knew where I was going. I was made to feel welcome and at home by my kind hosts.

I really enjoyed my stay at Eileen's! The room is huge with massive windows - it's a light and airy space that's wonderful to stay in. It's a clean and modern place set high enough up the hill to get a stunning sea view and it's location in town is good as well and close to bus stops. Eileen was so welcoming, really accommodating when I asked to drop my things off early on the in day. She shared her space with me - there's a great kitchen and TV to enjoy and let you chill out. Thank you so much for hosting me, I'll be in touch if I ever need somewhere in Brighton again!

I am originally from Lancashire but have been living in Brighton for over 30 years. I love being in Brighton and never tire of walking by the sea and on the downs. I also enjoy going to live music gigs of which there are plenty - often in pubs. I retired in 2015 from my work as a Social Work Resource Officer. I travel about quite often but when I am home there is always something going on in Brighton. So I dont get bored!
