About this listing
We completely redid our upstairs living room, kitchen and large expansive deck. New high end appliances, refinished oak floors and newly vaulted ceiling with large windows to our private backyard. One king size bed, one queen and one twin bed. Radiant in-floor heating for winter comfort.
Live among 100' Douglas fir trees and lounge outside, inside the forest. The house is on Squak mountain in Issaquah, less than 1 mile from old town Issaquah and the salmon day festivities.
The house was designed as a townhouse with two living spaces and two kitchens. We have done a lot of renovation, most recently on the 'South' townhouse area. We normally occupy the entire house. However, due to extensive travel we've decided to offer the new space to AirBnb guests.
There are times when one or both of us will be home during your stay and we will remain in the 'North' unit. When we are both absent we have a house sitter live in the 'North' part of the house. The two units are separated by stairs and a doorway (no door, no lock, a Japanese screen).
The space for guests is the newly remodeled area, the back 'South' driveway, the new deck area and the 'South' backyard area.
Interaction with guests
At this time we plan to always be present or have our house sitter in the house during your stay.
Old town Issaquah is a short walk downhill, a longer walk back up the hill and somewhat strenuous. Walking to town you will pass the creek, the salmon hatchery and the library. Jak's is a very famous restaurant and there are numerous other choices within two blocks of the library. There is live music at Vino Bella's (wine bar) every Friday and Saturday night. Costco and Home Depot, Walgreens, Safeway are all about 2 miles from the house.
Keep your eyes out for deer, rabbits, raccoons and the occasional bear in the back yard.
Public buses are nearby at the Issaquah transit center on highway 900 and Newport Way NW.
There are to be no loud parties, pets or smoking. Please do not use the grand piano and please please be extremely careful around the stained glass window. Children should never be allowed on the piano bench.
